[I waited 45 seconds and actually posted something substantial--Ed.]
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. At least four people were shot outside of a Colorado Springs church on Sunday, but it was not immediately known whether the shootings were related to an earlier shooting about 70 miles away, authorities said.
The witness I believe said he fired at him and then 3 times directly at her.
And that speaks directly to my original question. He must have been sending out enough red flags that he SHOULD HAVE BEEN committed, i.e., RECEIVED HELP.
I'm more amazed you don't understand MY point.
Interesting.
Absolutely right.
It’s obvious that YWAM made the right decision...this guy was certifiable and had major problems. He was in no position to be able to help others, when he obviously couldn’t even help himself.
Yep, I’m amazed Miss Assam was not injured...
I read through the article that was just linked from Brietbart and was in the sidebar a bit ago from the AP that states he killed himself... It reports that 3 of the 12 shots Miss Assam fired at the shooter penetrated the body armor he was wearing. Seeing as he was wearing body armor it makes sense why she shot him so many times (I was thinking that may have been a bit of “overkill”).
It seems from the comments on that other thread that a lot of people are thinking like I am that perhaps this is an attempt to discredit her witness/testimony. A way for the media to “get out of” reporting her part in ending this massacre. However, intelligent people will hopefully see that without her engaging him, he wouldn’t have turned the gun on himself so soon...
Im glad he died from his own bullet instead of hers. It changes nothing though. She stopped him from hurting or killing anyone else. Since she shot him multiple times and didnt kill him , maybe that was Gods plan all along. If witnesses didnt see him point the gun at himself I want to see how they explain this though. Could it have bounced off of something?
I think it is. If not, why dig up dirt from her past?
Bourbonnais (the Vietnam Vet who was injured) mentioned that they turned a corner and then saw him sliding down and start bleeding. I’m speculating of course, but it could be that after she engaged him and he was hit he “retreated” to another area, and then upon realizing his plans were at an end turned the gun on himself, before they turned the corner. However, Bourbonnais also states that he picked up the gun, cleared the chamber, and that the shooter’s gun had jammed. If this is the case I wonder as well how he could’ve killed himself. A jammed gun doesn’t fire, does it? Very interesting...
IMHO, the atheists and agnostics in the press will be scrambling to find a way to discredit her for fear that the testimony/witness will increase other’s faith.
What they always fail to understand is that even if she had problems in the past, her belief in G-d NOW trumps it all... The truth is that G-d changes people’s hearts. Even if she was a “bad cop” (which is doesn’t seem like she really was) that doesn’t mean that G-d has not worked in her since that time. That is how it’s “supposed” to work! ;)
Also, they reported earlier his own gun was jammed.
I’d like an explanation on that, too.
exactly.
A jammed gun doesn’t fire if ‘SomeOne’ has jammed it.
This is why I consider the whole situation with her, nothing short of a Miracle.

Then, perhaps it was ‘unjammed’ by that same SomeOne when he pointed it to himself.
I agree with you yorkie. But if they’re saying now he killed himself, yet an eyewitness, Vietnam Vet said she stood him down and dropped him...and he, the eyewitness said the suspect’s gun was jammed, you tell me how he killed himself while the eyewitness claims nothing of the sort.....
Fine, I can go along with, too; but still the eyewitness stated nothing about that, either.
It sounded like, from what he said, he had a clear view of the entire matter....and nothing, absolutely nothing was said about the killer pointing the gun at himself.
Absolutely! E.D. Hill had the report that he supposedly shot himself, but she also talked to an eye witness who saw Assam shoot him. He said nothing about the shooter turning the gun on himself. But he did say there was another guard taking cover near him who wouldn’t take a shot and wouldn’t give him the gun. It didn’t sound like an official autopsy report to me. As for how many shots she fired, her training would be to empty her clip.
I don’t understand it, either. Some have pointed out that Murray had more than one handgun - plus a long gun. I don’t know about that, but it might be one explanation.
Sure seems like they (Assam and Bourbonnais, perhaps others) would’ve seen him shoot himself, however.
