[I waited 45 seconds and actually posted something substantial--Ed.]

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — At least four people were shot outside of a Colorado Springs church on Sunday, but it was not immediately known whether the shootings were related to an earlier shooting about 70 miles away, authorities said.

I don’t think he ever left ya in the first place. Sometimes, we take a slight detour, but he’s there with his everlasting patience for his children, his angels are still with us as well. The best thing about his love, it’s not even close to what a human can even attempt to understand. It’s more than we can imagine, let along give.

It’s a very large campus. Perhaps there were only a few hundred people in the sanctuary portion where the shooter was most likely headed? That doesn’t mean there were not more people in other parts of the building(s). Regardless, Ms. Assam saved many, many people yesterday...

To call and challenge parents to be good parents.

Mine are grown, but it is never too late. You have more control with the little ones. I think it is very hard to be a parent in our times. There are so many different parenting styles. You try to be strict with your own about some things; your neighbors might be too permissive (& vice versa about other things), kids can't understand those things. They might see the permissive parents as better, happier, and more fun. I could have done several things better, but I could have done worse as well.

If you have an adult, mentally-ill child, I don't like to get into blaming too much. Sometimes the best parents in the world can't cope with it effectively and keep things running at the same time.

Here it is refreshing to find a respected professional that is Christian, and look at the cross that has been laid on that family. They probably tried to do the best they knew.

OH - two sisters! And the dad seriously wounded. How can any father bear this? Only by God’s mercy and grace....but there is still deep loss, deep anguish and grieving.

Thanks for that update.

LOL. Please.

By your definition, the use of “please” and “thank-you,”
waiting in line, turning off your cell phone in a theater, etc. are all nothing more than “Irrational Group-Think.”

Polite behavior is not “Irrational Group Think.”

Anti-social behavior is not Conservative behavior.

Screaming for attention is not “Feistiness.”

In fact, Libs are the ones who

See how silly that is?

The fasting just hit me deep...it appears that she was unknowingly being prepared in a sense, right? That’s the way is seems to me. That’s spiritual, and an example of God’s power. It really is a testimony of a miracle!!

That’s a fact, Kim. I still think He must, at times, just shake His head in wonderment, as we walk around in circles thinking we are taking an easier, quicker route....when all we’ve done is expend even greater energy and waste of our time....silly us. : )

I noticed 10 years (’97) have passed since her last minor complaint. A lot of things may have changed in her life since, including the Lord’s working?

Yes...that can be said to be the "bafflement" of it all...and yet, not, because it was all preparation unbeknownst.

“It appears that the suspect had been kicked out of the program three years prior and during the past few weeks had sent different forms of hate mail to the program and/or its director,” police said.

Murray’s relatives said they were grief-stricken and baffled. “Our family cannot express the magnitude of our grief for the victims and families of this tragedy. On our behalf of our family, and our son, we ask for forgiveness. We cannot understand why this has happened,” they said in a statement read by the gunman’s uncle, Phil Abeyta, who fought back tears.

The training center said health problems kept Murray from finishing the program. It did not elaborate. ...

Ping to post 1942, which has link..the article includes..

considering what we discussed earlier...Excerpt:

That was five days after Murray performed a pair of dark rock songs at a concert at the mission that made fellow workers "pretty scared," according to Werner.

The performance -- which included a song by rock band Linkin Park and another that had been recorded by controversial rocker Marilyn Manson -- followed months of strange behavior, Werner said.

Werner, of Balneario Camborius, Brazil, said he had a bunk near Murray's and that Murray would roll around in bed and make noises.

"He would say, 'Don't worry, I'm just talking to the voices,' " Werner said. "He'd say, 'Don't worry, Richard. You're a nice guy. The voices like you.' "

Thank you, Kim. I do think you are right... If He were not there I don’t think I would’ve made it through some of the things I’ve experienced in my life — even if I didn’t give Him the credit at the time... Even when we “turn away” there is still a tugging at the heart... :)

She fired off 10 or 12 shots and we both came around the corner and he started sliding down and he started bleeding. He looked pretty dead. I told her to take a headshot and she said, ‘No, I think he’s dead.’ I took a handgun out of his hand because I was unarmed. I cleared it. It had jammed, I remember that.”

10 or 12 shots, yea I imagine did look pretty dead, even only half connected.

There has been no indication at all that this young man was on any sort of medication...

Why must people make these assumptions? I think everyone doing this should just back off for a while before blaming this all on medications that help MILLIONS of people everyday...

Excuse me...but where is the 'separation of church and state' doctrine here? Shouldn't it be left up to the individual church to decide whether their members can carry or not?

It was that way in Texas, until a bunch of preacher, pastors and priests got together and let the Legislature know that they didn't think disarming them as they walked from their "office" to their home, was a Nice Thing. Next session the law was changed to make Churches no different than any other private property. They can post a 30.06 (section of the code defining the sign) sign if they wish, but few do.

Hospitals seem about the last places I regularly see posted. Oh and Taco Cabana, originally out of San Antonio, but bought by a firm from New York City. They didn't post until the change of ownership, but the dumb bunnies at Corporate in NYC did not mandate a legal sign, every one I've seen is way too small to meet the requirements of the law.
