Oh, yeah....wait until it's clearly working...then support it.

Now, why didn't I think of that?

Tiny minds think alike. Even the Dems have folded.

Stunning reversal!

This is an important part that I hope is not missed...

Ultimately, however, these military gains must be cemented with regional and global diplomacy, political reconciliation, and economic recovery -- tools yet sufficiently utilized. Today's tactical gains in Iraq -- while a necessary pre-condition for political reconciliation -- will crumble without a deliberate and comprehensive strategy.

I’m sure this will be reported in the MSM.

it will be interesting to see whether they turn on one of their own, or come around to the view, supported by a preponderance of evidence, that the surge is working

Anybody wanna make a bet on which course the antiwar crackpots will take??

these military gains must be cemented with regional and global diplomacy, political reconciliation, and economic recovery --

Today's tactical gains in Iraq -- while a necessary pre-condition for political reconciliation -- will crumble without a deliberate and comprehensive strategy.

We, the transition teams are already heavily engaged in that. Strategy is already developed and being implemented.

And the Iraqis are coming right along.

Sorry, libs. :-)

One has to only remember Representative Brian Baird (D Wa) to come to the answer on how this will be received by the leftist moonbats.

If it took longer to implement than it takes to heat up a bag of microwave popcorn, then it was obviously all screwed up by total incompetents and can never be salvaged....

at least according to those who willingly bend over to be punked by those who preach our defeat.

PS. Thanks for doing what you do. Civilian contractors don’t get near the respect they should.

IMO, the Iraqi government is being built from the ground up. At the local level people are working hard to make things happen. What is going on in Baghdad today could be largely irrelevant a year from now. The names and faces of the national government will change because the grass roots will demand it.

The Iraqi people have tasted freedom in sufficient amounts now to know they don't want to go back to the old way.

Anyone who would let himself be used as General Batiste did by the enemies of our country is not someone I admire.

Interesting question. Did he realize that he was WRONG, or is he, in fact, merely flip flopping with the wind and tide?

It will be interesting to watch and see if the Democrats now follow him, as an acknowledged expert in their eyes. Indeed, perhaps they suggested to him that he should make such a statement, in order to lead the way as an expert, and thus help them flip flop more gracefully.

Or will they now repudiate him? Stay tuned. Murtha, of course, went first, but he pretends to be an old and experienced veteran who knows all about military matters.
