“a flat out disaster”

Hollywood will no doubt soon be asking for government disaster relief if it keeps up the pace of making anti- Christian and anti-American films.

...worthy films like 'Narnia: Prince Caspian' in May.

You seem to know a lot about movies. Are there any plans to make my favorite Narnia book, A Horse and His Boy, into a movie?

Your canard about DVD releases needs to be put to rest: DVD sales have been down sharply for the past 12 months, with even blockbusters moving half the units they could previously be expected to move (Spiderman 3, Shrek 3, etc.) One report said that studios were accustomed to relying on 40% of their revenue from a film to come from DVD sales—not so any longer.

I believe they’ve gone on record stating that The Voyage of the Dawn Treader is next, which would put A Horse and His Boy some ways down the road.

My grown daughters and I went to see "Enchanted," and we really enjoyed it.

Just got back from seeing Enchanted with my daughters. I recommend it for children and adults

I wouldn't go that far...LOL.

Are there any plans to make my favorite Narnia book, A Horse and His Boy, into a movie?

I do know that they are filming the 3rd Narnia film "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" for a tentative release of May 1, 2009. I think they are planning on filming the complete Narnia Chronicles.

I don’t understand it myself. A family film by definition should have a wide appeal. The audience is by definition an audience of religious people with children and religious people have by far the most children. When you decide to produce something that has as a source an anti-God theme then you are turning away the largest segment of your potential audience. I don’t understand modern marketers. They should be able to do focus groups before they spend nearly 200 million on something that is flopping as bad as this.

Here's the sad part.

This is the authors and their schools.

(V. Breno Meyer-Rochow and J. Gal; International University of Bremen and Lorand Eotvos University of Hungary; 2005)

There were at least two universities involved. Or should I saw culpable. :o)

Clean the brimstone off your cloven hooves before you enter the theater to see this...and pick yourself up a box of Red Hots at the concession stand.

I see that you are an Austin liberaltarian. No surprise that you’d defend those who hate Christians.

“How much of a “strong Catholic” is someone who lives with a Scientologist for a decde and permits her two children to be raised as Scientologists?”

Frankly, I don’t know. I don’t follow celebrities. I had to google to see who she was married to, that’s how closely I follow the Hollywood crowd. Perhaps as part of the Hollywood PR to offset negative publicity about this movie, I read that Kidman herself is RC and believes that her faith is an essential part of who she is. Not for me to judge. Busy enough trying to save my own soul ;)

Check out “Tin Man” on Scifi today.

Saw it. Forced to watch by my wife but enjoyed it. Zooey Deschanel, thought she was hot in "Elf", wow.

I coined the term ‘dysangelist’ for atheist ‘evangelists’. They definitely aren’t spreading any ‘good news’.

Our movie theater (an independent one) didn’t get the movie, and I was thanked by a customer for not getting it. (I don’t book them, I sell tickets).

Let's see if we can apply this further::

If you don't like Hillary, don't root against her-- just don't listen.

Let's stop all negativity on FreeRepublic.Only positive things, or we'll be hearing that same old cliche' --

"just turn the dial!!!!!"

Here's one for you: If you don't like the anti-GC, why don't you just move on?

I actually don't see how Redacted and GC are different. Both are created intentionally to undermine people's values (American patriotism and Christianity). I suggest you read the 'His Dark Materials' series. If you don't want to buy, you can easily read the synopsis on the internet. In the last book, the 13-yrs old characters are having sex and finally accomplish their mission: to kill God!

HP books/movies, while also have some values that Christians don't agree, were not written intentionally to undermine Christianity.

Suppose Osama Bin Laden is a good author, and he writes a very good fiction with a very anti-American message. I just don't see why any American (except the rabid leftist) want spend their money on a movie based on that book.

“Family orientated”???

That is like 'incidences'. I hear that word more times than I thought possible. Dang it! It isn't a word!

The pornography industry is a billion dollar business. Keep that in mind before you feel encouraged by the failure of just one film written by an atheist.

Yours is a non-sequitor. Pornography is not specifically aimed at one faith. The author targeted Christianity.

Why are you expending all this energy telling us we're wasting our energy enjoying the failure of an evil film?

Killing time before the Cowboy game.

By your logic, I'm not qualified to advise someone to avoid a carcinogen because I've never had cancer.

By far the dumbest example yet on this thread. "Don't see this movie, it's like getting cancer."

If I am wasting my time, then how come no one is going to see the movie? The emails/word of mouth/Pulpit messages about GC have been going out for months.
—End result: Box office flop.
I would call this an ASTOUNDING SUCCESS, not a waste of time.

Bottom line: People of faith rule, atheists drool.
