Do you know if Texas funded the road?

AFAIR, the road is privately funded.

There is nothing private about eminent domain seizures.

The private funding for the Superhighway is coming from a Spanish company which will turn the road(s) into toll roads to pay for it. Just like most toll road in Texas are not owned but the state but are owned by foreign companies.

With regards to the spanish construction company, you would have to dig, but my little understanding on the matter is Rudy’s law firm represented the company on its bid win to build the highway. Hence, no need for legislation.

Great news about these highways, is it should bring in more illegal immigrants into the US. So ALL candidates should be saying something about it but as indicated, RP, Hunter and Tancredo are the only ones who have mentioned this.

I am just happy that Bush didn’t have us seeing him in the Rose Garden signing the amnesty bill some time ago. Easier to push this through the Department of Commerce than to have legislation crafted and voted down by the people.

Not exactly - the eminent domain, the tolls, the limiting of alternate roads, and so on make it complicated. There are quite a few threads about it.
