If I ever paid $400 dollars for a haircut, I must be a network news anchor.

Boys did good last night huh?
Had to watch it on the computer because of the Time/Warner-NFL channel BS.

Boys did good last night huh? They were a little sloppy in their execution in the 2nd half, but they scored when they needed to. It could've been an even bigger victory. A good effort all in all. Had to watch it on the computer because of the Time/Warner-NFL channel BS.
DirecTV here. Been a subscriber since 1996, and I wouldn't have anything else.

2nd half did seem to go a little slower but it was hard to tell on NFL.com. Wife said it was like Nintendo without the little guys moving around.
I've considered satellite but many down here have weather issues with theirs. Do you?

I've considered satellite but many down here have weather issues with theirs. Do you?The only problems I have with it is when we get a heavy snow. Then, you only have clear the snow off the dish to get the signal back.
Now, they make covers for the dish so that snow can't accumulate. I haven't lost a signal since the heavy snow of 2004.
I think you would be completely satisfied with your DirecTV. I know you get rain where you're at, but it rain rarely interrupts your signal.
How it works is that your dish scans for the best possible signal through 40 or so transponders. If one transponder is not good, then it keeps going until a stronger signal comes in on another one.
When I first signed up for DirecTV, there was no digital cable yet. Finally, cable went digital to compete with satellite, and we've been besieged by nasty television commercials ever since.
For me, the money I spend is worth every penny for the experience I get in my television viewing. And now you can get the High Definition dishes for your HiDef television.
In the end, in my opinion, you get what you pay for, and what your budget allows you to do. If the guy that puts the dish on does a good job, then you should have little or no problems with your satellite dish.
That may be some of the problems you here about with dishes. It's like any other company. They have good employees and bad employees.
It might not hurt to try it. You can always go back to cable.

Well snow is one thing we don't really have to worry about. LOL
I may give it more serious consideration since you don't really have any problems. Do you also use it for internet or can you? I also use cable to connect, but have been getting dropped lately and that is very irritating.

I've become addicted to the speed of cable. :)
Researching as we speak, but given only one choice, I'd rather have the net than the TV. Don't have much use for anything broadcast except Nascar.
