According to your link, the US exported in 2006 $55,185.7 billion and imported $287,774.4 billion. U.S. exports to Japan reached $59.6 billion in 2006, which would make it third not China. That may change in 2007.

Five times faster using what as a base year and on what basis? There is no doubt that trade is increasing, but our trade balance is way out of whack.
