NEW BUCHANAN BOOK DECLARES 'END OF AMERICA'

Sun Nov 25 2007 20:40:15 ET

**Exclusive**

“America is coming apart, decomposing, and...the likelihood of her survival as one nation...is improbable -- and impossible if America continues on her current course," declares Pat Buchanan. "For we are on a path to national suicide.”

The best-selling author and former presidential candidate is on the eve of launching his new epic book: DAY OR RECKONING: HOW HUBRIS, IDEOLOGY AND GREE ARE TEARING AMERICA APART.

This time, Buchanan goes all the way:

"America is in an existential crisis from which the nation may not survive."

The U.S. Army is breaking and is too small to meet America’s global commitments.

The dollar has sunk to historic lows and is being abandoned by foreign governments.

U.S. manufacturing is being hollowed out.

The greatest invasion in history, from the Third World, is swamping the ethno-cultural core of the country, leading to Balkanization and the loss of the Southwest to Mexico.

The culture is collapsing and the nation is being deconstructed along the lines of race and class.

A fiscal crisis looms as the unfunded mandates of Social Security and Medicare remain unaddressed.

All these crises are hitting America at once -- a perfect storm of crises.

Specifically, Buchanan contends:

• Pax Americana, the era of U.S. global dominance, is over. A struggle for global hegemony has begun among the United States, China, a resurgent Russia and radical Islam

• Bush’s invasion of Iraq was a product of hubris and of ideology, a secular religion of “democratism,” to which Bush was converted in the days following 9/11

• Torn asunder by a culture war, America has now begun to break down along class, ethnic and racial lines.

• The greatest threat to U.S. sovereignty and independence is the scheme of a global elite to erase America’s borders and merge the USA, Mexico and Canada into a North American Union.

• Free trade is shipping jobs, factories and technology to China and plunging America into permanent dependency and unpayable debt. One of every six U.S. manufacturing jobs vanished under Bush

• “Sovereign Wealth Funds,” controlled by foreign regimes and stuffed with trillions of dollars from U.S. trade deficits, are buying up strategic corporate assets vital to America’s security

• As U.S. wages are stagnant, corporate CEOs are raking in rising pay and benefits 400 to 500 times that of their workers

• The Third World invasion through Mexico is a graver threat to our survival as one nation than anything happening in Afghanistan or Iraq

* European-Americans, 89% of the nation when JFK took the oath, are now 66% and sinking. Before 2050, America is a Third World nation

• By 2060, America will add 167 million people and 105 million immigrants will be here, triple the 37 million today.

• Hispanics will be over 100 million in 2050 and concentrated in a Southwest most Mexicans believe belongs to them

Buchanan’s Recommendations:

• A new foreign-defense policy that closes most of the 1000 bases overseas, reviews all alliances, and brings home U.S. troops

• A purge of neoconservative ideology and the “Cakewalk” crowd” from national power.

• To avert a second Cold War, the United States should “get out of Russia’s space and get out of Russia’s face,” and shut down all U.S. bases on the soil of the former Soviet Union

• To reach a cold peace in the culture war, Buchanan urges a return to federalism and the overthrow of our judicial dictatorship by Congressionally mandated restrictions on the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court.

• To end the trade deficits and save the dollar, Buchanan urges a Hamiltonian solution: a 20% Border Equity Tax on imports, with the $500 billion raised to be used to end taxation on American producers

• To prevent America becoming “a tangle of squabbling nationalities” Buchanan urges: No amnesty for the 12-20 million illegal aliens; a border fence from San Diego to Brownsville; Congressional declarations that children born to illegal aliens are not citizens and English is the language of the United States; and a “timeout” on all immigration.

Pat is a bigot pure and simple. He doesn’t like Arabs either he just dislikes Jews more. He believes in Anglo Saxon superiority. He’s like his old man a John Bircher. America is not an island onto itself that can stick its head in the sand and ignore external dangers. Hitler would not have over looked us if he had successfully achieved his goal not will these Islamic facists, Pat is a petty little man whose only claim to fame is as a speech writer to a failed crooked president.

Pat Buchanan is a very intelligent man who has long-since discredited himself with his reflexive Jew-hatred and pro-NAZI sympathies.

Again, if someone like you is going to slander someone, you better be able to back it up.

As to the wreath laying, you say, "As I recall it was Pat, as a Reagan aid, who scheduled the President to lay a wreath on SS graves at Bitburg, Germany.

Consider that I have little regard for your vague recollection of "facts" regarding whether it was Buchanan who was responsible for scheduling the cemetery visit.

Secondly, Reagan did not lay the wreath at SS graves. He laid it at a German military cemetery. There are 47 German soldiers who were in the SS buried there. And what would you expect? Would you expect to find no Airborne Rangers in an American military cemetery?

Thirdly, you seem to think that Buchanan is somehow responsible for that wreath. But, it was Reagan's hand that actually laid the wreath. Isn't Reagan considerably more implicated as a Nazi sympathizer in this case if anyone is?

I agree with Mr. Buchanan on all but his foreign policy positions. He’s wrong about some things, but right about so many others.

I've seen the time -- I'm a n00b, but a long time lurker, dont you know -- seen the time that you could get banned for saying something nice about Buchanan.

It looks to me like PB could do very well now in an FR straw poll.

And I am really am not seeing but one poster really putting a typical, sustained, screaming You-are-all-bigots fight. I think the swinging pendulum has swung.

Yeah, yeah... 100 years ago:

The greatest invasion in history, from Ireland, is swamping the ethno-cultural Protestant core of the country, leading to Balkanization and the loss of the Northeast to The Irish.

Fixed it for ya, Pat, ya wierd ol' populist....

I agree with you and Pat as well. For the most part he is correct and I have been saying much of what he has all along. We are in SERIOUS SERIOUS trouble. If Klinton gets in I see it as the beginning of the end for the US as we know it. We are on a suicide course for sure.

A professed open borders latina lecturing me on bigotry...just like you used to before you ran off with your tail tween yer legs to anti-freeper sites

now you're back and up to your old tricks I see

here's a little secret I've noticed here....(whispering)

the real bigots on this forum are the name-your-minority posters who quickly accuse others of bigotry when there is none to cloak their own resentful bigotry to whichever majority they have a peronal axe to grind with.

but I think most thinking people are on to that game now...nice try though

Only young fools who don’t remember when the culture had strength and diginity would laugh at this.

Some of what he said definitely deserves to be laughed at, but some of it - we are clearly on a road that will see this country turning into a shadow of what it once was.

Maybe that's the way it's supposed to be. Fox is ready to proclaim Giuliani the GOP candidate and CNN wants to declare Hillary, and the only difference between the two is how fast and how big they can grow the government and turn us towards the socialist paradise (and by paradise I mean hell) we seemed to be headed towards.

Too many conservatives are accepting of this. You'll hear them say "YOU MUST VOTE GOP NO MATTER WHO THE CANDIDATE IS". That right there tells you all you need to know.

Buchanan has more in common with Le Pen than any Republican. Including Ron paul.

what if I said to you “Thank God for Taco Stands and Barrios”....still funny?

We are in SERIOUS SERIOUS trouble. If Klinton gets in I see it as the beginning of the end for the US as we know it. We are on a suicide course for sure.

I don't think it matters if Hillary gets in - I look at Giulani and some of the other candidates, and the way the GOP members in Congress act, and at times it feels like we are talking about socialism vs socialism lite when it comes to democrats versus Republicans.

I remember all of the talk from Bush and from Republicans in Congress how, with a Republican President and a Republican Congress, they'll be able to shrink the government, shrink the power of the government, shrink the budget, put more power and choices in the hands of Americans, etc, and after several years of a Republican Congress and a Republican President, all I've seen is a bigger government with more power. On top of it, we've got a government that is intent on keeping our borders as open as possible - sure they'll pay a little lip service and throw up a few fences here and there (or webcams if you are in Texas) but they are doing that to lull the conservatives into buying their spiel.

The fact is, I have consistently voted conservative since I was 18 and that was several decades ago, and I find myself feeling like I'm the RINO, because I don't recognize the GOP - sure, I see a few people like Hunter and some others who are trying to be conservative, but the overwhelming majority seem deadset on electing a liberal Republican.

It's very disturbing. I look at how much the country has changed since I was a child, and I think that my great-grandchildren and their grandchildren will probably curse my generation someday. That is, if they realized what we once had. By the time they are adults, they will accept big government and some form of socialism as the norm.

Buchanan’s issues with Israel and his foreign policy views leave a lot to be desired.

His cultural views are spot on to me....not just the borders issue but morality and family and abortion etc.
