Dengler wrote about his experience in his book “Escape From Laos.” Recommended!

A brave and tenacious hero.
RE: the movie about his life — now THAT is the kind of story I’ll pay to see. None of that “Redacted” crap for me, thank you!

Saw the movie. It wasn’t as gruesome as his real life and well worth watching. The movie was shot is little or no computer graphics. Even the scene s of him moving through the jungle was filmed with a crew crawling through the jungle with him. It was a dramatic story told with extreme realism in at least the cinematography.

Amazing story indeed.....but with lots of errata. Lt(jg) Dengler was a Naval aviator off the USS Ranger and it's doubtful the mission was secret. He was brought down in Laos and held captive by the Pathet Lao. He was never in the hands of the NVNA.
There was a second survivor in the escape, a Thai named Indradat.
I find no record of him being promoted to a USAF Lt Col or Colonel. His service in the AF prior to his Navy service was as an enlisted man.
Denler was the real deal and Navy Cross winner. Salute to Lt(jg) Dengler.

Amazing.
And to think of the many in our country who relish doing this very thing.

May he rest in peace, what an incredible story of bravery and heroism. How one human can do that to another is beyond my comprehension. Perhaps it’s because as a Christian, I value life and they don’t. Is this what America would be like if the ACLU, Democrats, etc. expel God from our country?
