Bush: Clinton Understands White House Pressure Exclusive Interview Details President's Thoughts on 2008 Race, Last Year in Office By RICK KLEIN and ED O'KEEFE
Nov. 20, 2007
In an exclusive interview with Charlie Gibson airing on Tuesday's World News, President Bush and First Lady Laura Bush said that Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's experience as first lady has prepared her to handle the "pressure" of a presidential race and the White House.
"No question, there is no question that Senator Clinton understands pressure better than any of the candidates, you know, in the race," the president told ABC News' Charles Gibson Tuesday afternoon at the presidential retreat at Camp David.

The President emphasized, "I do believe our candidate will beat her, if she happens to be the nominee," although he refused to speculate on the Republican presidential field, calling it a "wide-open" race.
Bush, whose father was defeated for reelection by then-Governor Bill Clinton in 1992, called the former first lady a "very formidable candidate", repeatedly saying she and the former president "understand the klieg lights".
Mrs. Bush said experience as first lady would be "very helpful" in the White House.
"You certainly know what it's like," Mrs. Bush stressed, "you know the pressure, there is, you know the difficulties."

Americans love their familiar names.
Stupid people! Shut up already!
Grrrr!
Ahhhhh Bush pimping for Hillary.......why am I NOT surprised?
It's not true that being married to a president and living in the White House for 8 years gives you a better understanding of the pressures over someone who has never been there??? How else was he supposed to respond?
Yes, but Democrats HATE Bush, so if he is stated to say something positive about her, they’ll think twice about voting for her. I believe it’s called Reverse Pyschology. No where does he say “she’d be good in this job or that the experience was a positive one. As with all the news, you have to shovel past the manure. Besides, Bush is irrelevant when it comes to the next election.
If that is all Bush learned about the Clintons(and I believe that he was straining to learn that much)he will learn this Satanic Duo is Evil Incarnate if these two foul individuals are allowed to infest the Whitehouse again for any reason.
Not to mention I'm sure the columnist cherry-picked the interview just to make right-wingers mad.
And Freepers fall for it every time.
He's essentially the same guy we voted for in '00. I knew I was voting for a big gov't globalist RINO in the general election back then; it was just that I preferred him to his big gov't globalist Donkey opponent.
We've had a "lesser of two evils" situation in this country ever since Reagan left office. ...and it appears we'll see the same '08.
Me too. The man has lost his marbles.
I do not find it difficult believing he has lost his marbles. Now if this is true, I wonder just how many he had to begin with.
Jeb Bush might be the best of the Bush clan, but after two big disappointments with Bush 41 & 43 I'll not be voting for any Bush again.
I fear the fix is in.....
“No question, there is no question that Senator Clinton understands pressure better than any of the candidates, you know, in the race,”

“No question, there is no question that Senator Clinton understands pressure better than any of the candidates, you know, in the race,”
I would guess so considering her “husband” was impeached in office for lying under oath in a Court of Law.
What’s the big deal about saying that?
I know President Bush is very conscious of being presidential, but why oh why does he have to compliment her even in this minor way? That woman wouldn’t hesitate for a second to plunge a political or rhetorical knife into his back if it got her ten votes. Honest to God, I do not understand the Bush family - both George H and George W - persistently turning the other cheek to Dems when all it has resulted in over the last eight years is another kick in the *ss!
If Bush can’t say anything good; then just shut up.
“Don’t worry, Bill, Hillary will be fine”. “See how I duped the Republican base”.
