Don’t the senators actually have to be in the chamber to be “in session” or is this another smoke-and-mirrors parliamentary maneuver like the “virtual filibuster”?

Unsavory??
Reid should know, he’s an expert in ‘unsavory’ behavior!
This is going to go over like a lead balloon in the Senate! Will be interesting to see how many senators blow a raspberry in Dingy Harry’s direction and leave anyway! :-)

There has to be a line somewhere but they won't see it until they see evidence it's been crossed.

This is going to go over like a lead balloon in the Senate! I think they should make the Junior Senator from New York hang around the chambers.

Whats he gonna do (force) Senators to be there: Id say screw you Harry Reid and go home anyway!! They will, of course. And Harry's only Nancy's sock-puppet; she calls all the shots.

How is he going to do this, with endless quorum calls?

Bush should just let Reid know that, if Reid does this, Bush is prepared to call a special session of Congress to keep them in session all the way through January 2009.
