Blue dogs are generally family oriented, favor less intevention by the judiciary, prefer low taxes while not big on war overseas are strongly protective of our borders and don’t favor free trade.
Huckabee has the social conservatism down and that’s about it.
His opinion on hiking taxes and open borders would turn them away in droves when exposed.

I sure hope Hunter and Thompson start working together before the primaries start. Hunter should be happy hed get the exposure working for the administration, but since he cant win, he should do the right thing and get behind Fred.
You shouldn't jump to conclusions so soon, especially before the primaries. History has shown anything can happen. Dewey defeating Truman is just on example.

“Romney has an excuse that Huckabee does not have. Romney was governor of one of the most liberal states in the U.S. - deep in enemy territory.”
In a state that elects a lot of Republican Governors.
But this one only got one term and turned it over to a Democrat.

And I've seen too many FReepers claim that Mr. Romney had to lie....As it's a cost of doing business. ...Personally I'd just as soon he went down in a flash of flames... Not sure what "lying" you are referring to. But it doesn't really matter I suppose. You don't like him and that's that. AMF.

In a state that elects a lot of Republican Governors. But this one only got one term and turned it over to a Democrat. Not surprising in a state that keeps electing Ted Kennedy. Massachusetts is much more liberal than Arkansas so Romney has an excuse Huckabee doesn't.

You can try to spin it, but the freepers that know the state, say that he left the Reps in shambles and walked away.
I can look up the governors and see that it seems easy enough for Reps to win that position.

I have been hearing the rumblings that Huckabee is fast and loose with the truth, which is a particularly troubling trait for a former Baptist preacher...but certainly within the tradition of former Arkansas governors.....

Romney isn’t a perfect conservative by any means, but one thing he is not is pro-amnesty.

Some do. There are many other who do not. You’re overgeneralizing.

I’m trying real hard to like Huckabee, but he doesn’t accept evolution as a theory.
I know he’s a preacher and all, but he needs to set aside his personal views.
To: mwollstonecraft
Well, as far as Huck being president goes, it seems like your opinion and Huckabee’s on evolution should be the least of your worries.

Carl Cameron on Fox News aired a piece today showing Huckabee admitted to falsely saying that, while governor, he asked the Arkansas legislature to pass new taxes because he was required to by the Arkansas Supreme Court.
It doesn't surprise me. I've never been a fan of Huckabee.
