Actually if you ever get a chance to read some of the statements of Democrats during the Philippine insurrection at the beginning of the 20th Century you will find the same dislike for the military, the same focus on American war crimes and faults, and the same blatant use of the issue for political power. William Jennings Byron for example voted for the war then actively attacked the war he voted for.
Democrats only play nice when their Presidents conduct wars.
Thanks for the tip. Lyndon Johnson took it in the shorts so much so that he declined to run again. I always wondered if his cancer figured into the decision though.
