You might want to refer that enthusiastic reply to robertpaulsen, who seems to think that “the militia” is only white landowning voting male citizens actively enrolled in a state militia.

Well, I actually said that, in 1792, the Militia consisted of "the people" and that "the people" were only white landowning voting male citizens. Funny thing is, the Parker court agreed with me.

"In sum, the phrase “the right of the people,” when read intratextually and in light of Supreme Court precedent, leads us to conclude that the right in question is individual. This proposition is true even though “the people” at the time of the founding was not as inclusive a concept as “the people” today."

"To the extent that non-whites, women, and the propertyless were excluded from the protections afforded to “the people,” the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment is understood to have corrected that initial constitutional shortcoming."

robertpaulson is an anti-gun whack-job who strives to disrupt the useful discourse we have in discussing these topics. He is completely wrong in his logic, completely wrong in his definitions, completely wrong in his convenient misinterpretation of the law, especially of the Constitution, and completely wrong in his arguments.

The best any and all of us can ever do is to Completely Ignore Him and let his verbal diarrhea simply circle the toilet bowl on the way down. I’m dumbfounded that some folks here still try to engage him in logical discussion. The activity defines the phrase “exercise in futility”.

The smart money is to completely ignore him. He will never go away but ignoring him reduces his disruption on the forum. He strives to destroy every thread on FR about the 2nd amendment, and everyone who posts comments to him, no matter how well intended, only helps him cause more damage than he can cause alone all by himself.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE do not reply to robertpaulson.
