One Reporter’s Opinion – Americans Fed Up With Stealth Amnesty
NewsMax ^ | November 8, 2007 | George Putnam

It is this reporter's opinion that the amnesty crowd won’t die easily.

Led by Senate majority leader, Harry Reid, D-Nev., Ted Kennedy, D-Mass., and company, they've tried five times to shove comprehensive immigration reform through and each time the American people, in their infinite wisdom, have rebuked them.

The defeat of the DREAM Act was a major setback. Then came California Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s attempt to add the AgJOBS bill to the Farm Bill and again they fell flat on their faces.

Feinstein admitted that amnesty efforts lacked popular support and its proponents could not overcome the opposition.

The recent Bank of America fiasco is further evidence that when the people speak, the amnesty crowd listens. Customers tore up their BoA credit cards when the bank decided to give credit cards to illegals. It cost Bank of America a 32-percent drop in business.

The threat is not over. Feinstein plans to bring up AgJOBS amnesty as a stand-alone bill later this year. But the amnesty crowd may be getting the message.

Eighty House Democrats and Republicans teamed up to propose a new immigration enforcement bill saying they reject the Reid-Kennedy attempt at amnesty.

A large number of rank-and-file Democrats agree with most Republicans that the first step should be a get-tough approach to border security. This new approach includes going after businesses that hire illegals; improving information sharing among the IRS, Homeland Security, and Social Security to track illegals; and increasing the number of enforcement agents at the border.

We the people are speaking up. The people are fed up with plans to merge the United States into a North American Union with Canada and Mexico which would destroy American sovereignty.

Thanks for the heads up.

But did they drop it or are they still offering them to illegals?

This is a great article, but I have zero faith in our gov’t when it comes to the annexation of the US onto Mexico. Until I see real results I won’t believe anything anyone in Congress says about illegals and the border.

Every single member of congress who supports amnesty should be jailed for aiding and abetting known criminals.

In a just world, our politicians encouraging this lawlessness would be wearing black hoods while standing on trap doors. We’ve reached a new high in institutionalized political corruption.

Fed up with lower wages and fewer jobs.

I wonder what the reaction would be if unemployed AMERICAN CITIZENS hung around Home Depot hoping to get picked up for a day job?

Would they be arrested for loitering? Would there be riots resulting from illegals outraged that someone is standing on their corner trying to get “their” jobs?

The left won’t let go. They really want this. They are desperate to win back power.

The arrogant, self serving senators, congressmen and congress-dingbats will not give up.
They do not really care what the electorate thinks and they do resent being forced to temporarily back away from Shamnesty by voter pressure.
They will continue to push their personal agenda through treachery and subterfuge - it is what they do.

I almost wish they would push this issue until we reach the breaking point and citizens openly rebel but I am afraid it would be used as an excuse for them to grab more power and to criminalize opposition.

This scamnesty is going to haunt us until we replace the liberal left.

“This scamnesty is going to haunt us until we replace the liberal left.”

George Bush, Chertoff and a bunch of other liberal left can’t leave town fast enough for me.

I’m almost ashamed to say I voted for that liberal Dubya twice. But the other choice was scarier.

Yeah! I have buyers remorse also, I voted twice to screw myself to the wall! actually I had little choice, It seems regardless who I vote for, I always get disappointed in the end. Bush was the Stealth Illegal Immigrant president.

It is very sad indeed to see the government that is voted in office, turn their backs on their duties once in office.
Bush is truely guilty of betraying the folks that trusted him to protect the sovereignty of the borders. Bush is not alone in the total neglect, the congress is equally guilty.
They really don’t give a damn about what we think until they need a nasty vote

Let's call it what it is: Treason. The jails are already overcrowded with illegals.

Next target: UN Sea Treaty. It amazes me that there are congressmen who are actually in favor of signing it. Smells of high treason to me especially when you swear to defend and uphold the US Constitution.
