Former Mexican president Vicente Fox spoke in Wilkes-Barre.

Vicente Fox, the former president of Mexico, spoke Monday night in Luzerne County.

Anti-immigration protesters gathered outside the the event at the F.M. Kirby Center in Wilkes-Barre. Some chanted "Fox, go home."

Fox was invitied here by Wilkes University as part of its Outstanding Leaders forum.

Fox said people cross the border for two reasons: the U. S. economy needs them and because someone here hires them.

"I can't understand this great, leading nation building a wall. I mean, what is the fear? What are you afraid of? Immigrants are not a threat to the U. S. The threat to the U. S. is isolation," said Fox.

Are there not enough good leaders in America to ask them to speak instead of these people who would see us undone.

Getting to be like baseball, I guess not enough red-blooded American boys want to play I guess they have to go to Mehico and El Salvador.

I am sure all the protesters were anti illegal immigration. But why put that word in there when you can call the racists and not use the word racist?

Maybe he is not aware of recent crime statistics!

Gee, maybe I want to live in Phoenix, not Mexico.

What causes illegal immigration is deplorable conditions in Mexico perpetuated by a corrupt, bloated oligarchy that hordes all the wealth, resources and industry. Fox is a pimp for this ruling class and for the Mexican Mafia.

Former Mexican president Vicente Fox fail to mention, of course, the tens of thousands of American Citizens the illegal invaders have killed. Talk about propaganda. This duffus is full of it and other assorted words.

He's a pompous jerk who takes delight in shoving them down our throats. He should be embarrassed they want to leave Mexico.

I wouldn't be surprised to find he has dual citizenship. He was educated here, worked for a US firm at one time and now owns a home in McAllen, Texas.

It helps to know geography. Hazelton is right outside of Wilkes-Barre.

And why do we care about Hazelton ? Think Lou Barletta.

You know, he was protested by both sides while in LA and the only mention I saw (or heard, or read) of it was a brief video on KCAL 9. Did anyone see anything in print about his propaganda tour?

The illegals protesting his LA visit were saying if the Mexican government wasn't so corrupt, they would have stayed home in Mexico.

Spoken like a true preening, posturing Anglo-Mexican millionaire surrounded by lifetime state-paid body guards and, undoubtedly, a large gated estate to kick back in. Elitist scum.

Indeed. Fox has several homes, one in McAllen, Texas.

Oh and the fact that Mexico is a corrupt crap-hole and the most dangerous country in the western hemisphere has nothing to do with it??
