So I was down in DC this past weekend and happened to run into a well-connected media person, who told me flatly, unequivocally that “everyone knows” The LA Times was sitting on a story, all wrapped up and ready to go about what is a potentially devastating sexual scandal involving a leading Presidential candidate. “Everyone knows” meaning everyone in the DC mainstream media political reporting world. “Sitting on it” because the paper couldn’t decide the complex ethics of whether and when to run it. The way I heard it they’d had it for a while but don’t know what to do. The person who told me )not an LAT person) knows I write and didn’t say “don’t write about this”.

No. If it were a dem, it would be out by now so the dems don't nominate someone who will take a hit after the nomination or so that the information is "old hat" long before the election. That they are sitting on it means it's an R. They are hoping he gets the nomination and then the story "leaks out" anyway close to the election. All the time, the Old Media company protests it was worried about the ethics so it sat on the story.
It's the way they handled the Foley scandal, when the target was an R. It sat and sat and, amazingly, just before the election, a leftist operative gets the info and springs it.
OTOH, releasing the info early is how they handled the info when the target was a D. Remember Jennifer Flowers? By the election it was "old news."
Well, the headline says “leading”, so we know it’s not Kucinich or Ron Paul.

The fact that this is mentioned now, it’s probably about Edwards or Obama. Unless one of the GOPers is playing with some guys privates, it wouldn’t have been mentioned.

They stop at nothing, even GLAAD debates, if it isn’t Edwards then they are blowing smoke, as Ms. Edwrad’s health condition may be what they are taking into consideration.

If it is Hillary, she is trying to keep the lid on this scandal.
If it is Rudy they are waiting until he receives the nomination from the Republicans, then they will release the info to guarantee that Hillary sweeps into the White House. If it leaks out now, they know that someone else will be able to take on Hillary. But if Rudy’s campaign derails for other reasons, then we nay never hear about this bombshell.
