You can delude yourself into thinking whatever you want, but I've made a lot of money in the last couple of years taking the "other" side of currency trades involving the U.S. dollar. My faith in the fiscal irresponsibility of this government has been rewarded.

I voted for Bush twice, and I'd vote for him again if I could. But there's no way in hell I would ever trust him to do the right thing all the time -- or even most of the time. The Harriet Miers debacle and this year's immigration fiasco are two perfect examples of why even those we support should face unrelenting pressure from their base at all times.
