I tried, but I gave birth to three brunettes and one who is currently dark blond with only the slightest twinge of strawberry! Hoping it skips a generation or two- my dad was a redhead and none of his parents or grandparents were. Funny that I hated my hair as a kid, but I was disappointed that none of the kids had it.
;*)
Redhead and had a redheaded daughter too. I did my part! We are the non freckles redheads. She gets mad at people dying their hair red, thinks it is an infringement on her territory!
The Scots version, the Queen of all Argyle!
In an unprecedented feat of forensic anthropology, European researchers extracted enough DNA from two Neanderthal skulls to suggest their owners sported red hair and white skin back when they were alive 43,000 and 50,000 years ago.
The hair color of humanity's closest relative might sound trivial but the finding, announced in today's issue of the journal Science, stunned anthropologists with the sheer power of genetics to reveal what Neanderthals really looked like, and how they behaved. And that, some say, will change the way humanity views itself.
"We are building an image of these Neanderthal people - their physical aspects, cognitive abilities, metabolism, immunity - the range is enormous," said Carles Lalueza-Fox of Barcelona, an author of the paper.
Last week, the same team announced that Neanderthals and today's humans share a gene associated with language......

Red hair, red flag.
“I guess it comes from the fact that when I was young I had a neighbor across the street who was two years older than I and was a six-foot tall drop dead beauty with fire engine red hair. She was something else..let me tell you.
Ive heard recently that shes now an FBI agent.”
By any chance, is her last name Scully?;>
Mine too, and she’s such a liberal!
Hope I can find a single one in her 20s before 2060
My baby girl has red hair and quite a temper too! It’s more of a dark red. There some Scottish and Irish blood in my family and in my wife’s.
I guess I would be remiss if I didn’t weigh in on this thread...
One year, for Halloween, I went to work as Agent Scully. I wore a black pantsuit and made myself an FBI badge which had Gillian Anderson's picture on it. After work, I had my friend drop me off at the local SDA church, which was hosting some kind of seminar. The lights were out in the sanctuary and I was walking around trying to find my hubby and my in-laws. A lot of people actually thought I was an FBI agent and were a bit spooked by it. LOL!
BTW--since we are the smallest minority in the world, shouldn't we be getting lots of special treatment and government handouts?/LOL!
TWO WORDS:
LAURA PREPON
Not sure where red hair got it’s start, but my grandmother was a redhead, and she was Alsatian French (borders Germany).
