MADD warns off foe of illegal aliens
Washington Times ^ | October 27, 2007 | Valerie Richardson

Michelle Dallacroce was hopping mad when she received a letter from Mothers Against Drunk Driving demanding she change the name of her organization, Mothers Against Illegal Aliens. "I couldn't believe it," Mrs. Dallacroce said. "I don't know who would be confused by this. We don't even have the same acronym." Mrs. Dallacroce, president of the Phoenix-based advocacy group, received a certified letter Oct. 10 stating that MADD owns the rights to the name "Mothers Against" and giving her 10 days to stop using it. "While we do not oppose the name of your organization as a whole, we cannot permit the term 'Mothers Against' to be used in such a manner since it creates a likelihood of confusion to the public as to any affiliation with Mothers Against Drunk Driving," the letter stated. "MADD cannot be associated with your organization and the use of 'Mothers Against' gives a strong implication of a relationship with MADD."

Mrs. Dallacroce fired back with a terse reply: "No!" An official from MADD could not be reached for comment. There are dozens, if not hundreds, of organizations that use the name "Mothers Against," including Mothers Against War, Mothers Against Cancer, Mothers Against Guns and Mothers Against Medical Error. Why MADD would single out MAIA isn't clear, although Mrs. Dallacroce has her own theory. She contends that MADD fears running afoul of immigration advocacy groups, and at least one MADD official agrees with her. Virginia Faircloth, president and founder of MADD's York County, S.C., chapter, resigned last week after learning of the threat against MAIA, saying that MADD has turned a blind eye to the problem of drunken driving by illegal aliens.

MADD has entirely outlived it’s usefulness. Drunk driving is down to historic lows, so they are now focusing on stupid crap like banning the sale of keg beer in college towns. They are a bunch of neo-prohibitionist drama whores. If they really gave a sh!t about drunk driving they would be on illegal aliens like flies on sh!t. But they don’t, so they can FOAD.

Since we can not disconnect driving from drinking due to an absolute need of daily driving in the US, the other only choice is not drinking at all. That is not happening, alcohol sales are the same or rising. MADD must know what we know. So the conclusion is that MADDs new target is the repeat of prohibition, we know what happen to that

My son started a group @ college called SAAD... Students Against Asian Drivers....

A friend of mine had lunch with a middle-aged Korean businessman, who asked him a riddle:

"How do you brind [blind] a Asian woo-man?"

My friend got a little nervous, half-fearing what he would hear next. The answer:

"Put a wind-shierd [windshield] in front of huh!"

The phenomenon is not a secret, any more than that of the relationship between the Celts and distilled spirits. My theory is that car ownership among the middle classes on the Asian continent is rather recent, and there is a lack of understanding about what cars can do and cannot do.

Don't think that statement holds water, I think you need to claim the whole slogan. Other wise some drunk can claim madd is using their name Drunk. LOL

” there is a lack of understanding about what cars can do and cannot do”

Like see what is front of them?

I really hate to be that way but when I drove around campus and there was a driver behaving badly it was usually an Asian driver...

Prove it. Show me the papers.

Now, since they don't exist, shut up and go to your Carrie Nation rally.

Mrs. Dallacroce fired back with a terse reply: "No!"

"Nuts!" is correct. It'll be interesting to see if MADD follows up on its threat.

Of course that is nonsense. There are numerous organizations that start, for example, with "National Association . . ."

MADD has seriously damaged its credibility. MADD should have been especially concerned about illegal aliens since large numbers of them have cause fatal car accidents while drunk.

As many Americans as drunk illegals kill in accidents, you’d think MADD would be happy to have any other organization try to get illegals out of our country! It seems to me that there’s more to this than MADD is admitting. I wouldn’t be surpised to learn that the ACLU or Homeland Insecurity was involved in this!

How powerful is MADD in thier anti-druck driving agenda? I was in Newark Delaware some years ago. I was turning left in an apartment complex on a two lane road. Double yellow line, plus I was in an intersection. No traffic coming towards me. I had my turn signal on. A motorcycle slammed into my drivers door about half way across the turn. The motorcycle driver goes over the cab of my truck. I call Newark police. I had to get out of the truck by the passenger door. My passenger and I both smelled alcohol on the bike driver. The investigating cop even asked who was drinking. The motorcycle driver said he was and pulls out his Newark Police ID. I demanded along with my passenger that the cop get a breath test from the bike driver. We were both told by both the biker and the cop to “shut up or go Downtown”. The investigating officer cited me for not looking in the rear view mirror before I turned left to check for traffic behind me! He let the bike rider off scott free. I complain to to Delaware Chapter of MADD. They were not interested. They could have cared less. After personal meetings with the Newark Chief of Police and the press, the bike rider was finally charged with improper passing. My citation was dismissed. I went to court to testify against the bike rider and guess who was prosecuting the case? The original investigating cop was. The judge asked the cop to proceed and the cop said “if I thought the bike rider was guilty of anything, I’d have issued him a ticket...” Judge: “case dismissed. What a joke MADD is. This drunk cop cost me $1000.00 to fix my truck. And walked(staggered) away. MADD wouldn’t return my calls. I wouldn’t give a cent to MADD.

Mothers Against Circumcision
Mothers Against Videogame Addiction and Violence
Mothers Against the Draft
Mothers Against School Hazing

Did all of them get this type of letter?
