In “Four Weddings and A Funeral”, there’s a scene at the Inn that Hugh Grant was going to originally stay but changed his mind until he found that the female named Carrie was staying at the Inn. He returned to the Inn, met Carrie and ordered drinks in the social area. While waiting for the drinks, another blusterous guest, also staying at the Inn, arrives. He had been chasing Carrie down. While talking with Grant, the fellow mentions that his brother’s friend “buggered” all the time while at school. That’s definitely homosexual. Now, I noticed that when the movie plays the word “buggered” changes to another PC word.
Ditto that.
The sexual proclivities of the characters just didn't enter into the story in any significant way at all. It's a complete non-issue as far as the books are concerned.
I find it interesting that she didn’t have the courage to admit Dumbledore was gay while she was still writing the books.
I don't either. Junk food for the mind.
I mean...I understand that the mainstream likes stories of witches, goblins, etc. But the popularity here on FR?
Potter is tripe.
I would have to agree, I liked the series and he never showed up on my highly developed gay-dar screen.
Huh? Part of the central plot in The Crucible is the false accusations of witchcraft. Arthur Miller didn't come out a few years after the play was written and say, "You know, Abigail Williams and Elizabeth Proctor were both witches." There is no accusations of Dumbledore being gay anywhere in the plotline of Harry Potter.
HP7 was very religious, in my view, and made obvious references to Christ’s struggle. Do you think J.K. is doing this to get back into good graces with her Liberal friends?
“As I remember it, Mr. Falwell’s newsletter (not Mr. Falwell himself) made the observation that a month earlier, a London newspaper had made the claim that Tinky Winky represented a gay character.”
You are correct, a gay group claimed the TT was gay and Falwell responded to that. Then Falwell gets smeared for seeing gay’s everywhere. Is there anything the media report correctly?
But this is the author herself saying he is gay if I read the article right. I won’t ignore that.
“First Gandalf now Dumbeldore?............”
Not ot mention that Hermione is heavily into S&M and threesomes.
Well, it explains better the relationship between Dumbledore and Grindelwald, what it was that led Dumbledore to evil. Maybe that is why Dumbledore never loved again, because he realised where his gay inclinations had taken him.
He never called Teletubby Tinky Winky gay
The "Teletubby Tinky Winky is gay" was started by a homosexual/gay pride group
A newsleter from one of Falwell's group's reported the story
That’s quite a leap of logic you make there, Mark: Dumbledore is a pop culture figure and is gay. Tinky Winky is also pop culture figure, who was accused by Jerry Falwell of being gay. Therefore, Jerry Falwell is vindicated.
I always figured Gilderoy Lockhart was a flamer, Witch Weekly’s Most Charming Smile not withstanding. :)
Your work? If so . . . pretty funny!
“Dumbledore is a fictional character...
F-I-C-T-I-O-N-A-L C-H-A-R-A-C-T-E-R...”
... and one that will influence children’s opinions about the rightness or wrongness of that filthy lifestyle.
