UPDATE: The city of Malibu is advising residents in Puerco Canyon to begin evacuating due to a wildfire driven by powerful winds. This area is north of Pacific Coast Highway and about 1 mile west of Pepperdine University. Residents along the beach on Malibu Road may soon be evacuated. Pacific Coast Highway is closed between Kanan-Dume Road and Topanga Canyon. Residents are advised to head to the west. Evacuation centers are being set up in the Zuma Beach area.
A wildfire driven by powerful winds in the Malibu Hills this morning threatened a university, destroyed at least one home and forced the evacuation of hundreds more, authorities said.

this is a map around 4:30pm showing also the Harris fire down south which is moving NW towards Chula Vista..they don’t know if the fire headed toward CV Bellalago is from this one or a new one..crap...

The Witch Fire is now 145,000 acres and 0 % contained.
The cause is under investigation. 600 structures have been destroyed (500 residences, 50 outbuildings and 100 commercial properties). 300 structures have been damaged (250 residences, 75 commercial properties and 50 outbuildings)
There has been 7 injuries to firefighters and 1 injury to a civilian. Communities threatened: San Diego, Poway, Ramona, Escondido, Lakeside, Valley Center, San Marcos, Rancho Santa Fe.
Currently there are 89 engines, 9 fire crews, 10 dozers, 2 water tenders -- about 625 firefighters.
The ICP has been moved to Kit Carson Park (at Kit Carson Park and Bear Valley Parkway).

USFS stating that all three fires in LA County will merge in 48 hours.

Fire moves into Fairbanks Ranch
Del Mar city officials are reporting that the fire has moved into the Fairbanks Ranch area. Residents in Del Mar are being told to evacaute.
Evacuees are being sent north to El Toro High School, 25255 Toledo Way in Lake Forest, Orange County.
Residents unable to self evacuate can call 858-704-3694.
At the moment, the Del Mar Fairgrounds is not able to receive any more individuals with special needs because the grounds are at full capacity.
The City of Oceanside has opened a shelter at El Camino High School, 400 Rancho Del Oro.
