His skin isn't white. He's parents are from Punjab India. That should give you an idea of his skin pigmentation. They immigrated here in '71. Bobby was born and raised here.

He's a conservative who thinks homosexuality is unnatural. Very anti-abortion(he actually delivered his own son when the baby arrived a few days early.)

Rep. Bobby Jindal barely had time to call 911 when his wife woke with labor pains Tuesday. Minutes later, he helped deliver his own son.

Slade Ryan Jindal arrived before the ambulance did at about 3:25 a.m. Jindal, coached over the phone by a nurse at the doctor's office, put the baby in the arms of his wife, Supriya, and tied off the umbilical cord with a shoestring.

"We certainly didn't expect this," the Louisiana Republican said later Tuesday. "We thought we had more time than we did."

Their third child, born two days before his due date, weighed in at a healthy 8 pounds, 2 ounces, and measured 21 inches long.

Supriya Jindal had been to the hospital twice in the last week with pains thought to be contractions, her husband said. She was at the doctor's office as recently as Monday and was told there were no signs the baby would be coming as soon as it did, he said.

He is very pro-gun, a strong supporter of the second amendment. He's a good guy and we desperately need more of him here. We were proud to cast our votes for him. And he keeps his head under pressure. (delivering his baby.) LOL

Jindal is an Indo-European. He is not African and is not “Black.”

Have the reports of “disenfranchised” voters displaced by Katrina started rolling in yet?

So, to greet the growing hispanic population of LA, you could tell them that they have a non-Blanco governor, right?

That depends hugely on how you define your terms -- terms that, for the most part, don't have a scientific definition.

Just as with actual people from Africa who come to the US are often denied the title African American.

Hahahaha. Did you ever doubt it? Yes. There's an article in one of the threads. They always toss the race card.

“Who cares about his skin color? Other than the Clintoon News Network?”

CNN just can’t believe all those backwards racists in Louisiana haven’t strung Jindal up. CNN has been spending the last few months going on and on about how racist that area of the country is because they had the nerve to prosecute some blacks.

“....the first nonwhite to hold post in Louisiana since Reconstruction.......”

I presume the reconstruction governor to whom they refer was P.B.S. Pinchback.

Indians from India are Caucasions.

Not only are they Caucasians, they are Aryans. Doesn't mean they are "white". Some are darker skinned than others, but all are darker than the vast majority of Europeans. Oh there might be some overlap between the lightest Indians and the darkest Europeans.

But then again, who cares?

Jindal himself, who referenced -- reasonably enough -- his immigrant roots in the campaign.

Sure, but so would a first generation descendant of European (or other "white") immigrants. Not quite the same as caring about his skin color.

If Jindal were a liberal democrat, they would all be crowing about how this was a harbinger of defeat for the republicans next November.

Well this shows Republicans can reach across races, and that we will win next November.

That would mean I could attend the third FreeRepublic Inaugural Ball in a row. Yahoo.

The big question now is: Is he now, or has he ever been, a Muslim? (:

At 38, his parents were likely born post separation, or immediately pre-separation. If they were Muslim, they'd probably be Pakistanis or Bangladeshi, although there are still substantial numbers of Muslims in post separation India.

He's most likely Hindu, with no love lost for Muslims. He could be Christian too. I worked with a very bright young lady whose parents were Christians from Southern India. She'd be close to his age, probably a little younger.

Jindal has straight hair. What’s he supposed to do— get a burr?

So do I, and while I have worn a burr, I've never had anything like John Edwards either. (But I disagree that Jindals "do" looks much like Edwards. If I had a face as think as his, I'd have a shorter haircut than that, but as it is, mine is similar, if a bit shorter (My barber cuts mostly Army heads. :) )

But as with his skin color, whatever it might be, who cares?

It's probably a lot easier to see and write about the color of his skin than the content of his character.

Why 2016? Why not 2012?

I'd rather think in terms of an incumbent Republican President running for re-election in 2012. If not, whoever opposes Hillary in 2012 will be the target of the mother of all smear campaigns.

re: skin color
The MSM needs to notice that. Apparently they need it to be politically significant. It fits their stereotype.

True that is. But again:

Who Cares?

Not I

>> Indians from India are Caucasions. <<

Indians from India are classified as "East Asian" (even though they're not oriental)

The previous "non-white" gov.

(Like Obama, half "white" (his father)) As you can see, he looks a whole lot more "Euro-Caucasian" than Jindal. He was a Republican too, BTW.
