"I speak for at least half the people here, including the Founder Jim Robinson, who has stated he will not vote for Giuliani under any circumstance."

Agree.

NOTHING IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN LIFE

Don't Cut and Run, vote pro-life every time. It's the way you always win.

‘We cannot diminish the value of one category of human life — the unborn — without diminishing the value of all human life.’ —Ronald Reagan

I’m MUCH more optimistic than some others, I agree with this:

Got to hold the line.

It’s election day Nov. 2008. The choice is Rooty or the beast, what are you going to do?

So you care more for a principle than you do about your country?

Hildy, YOU care more about your pro-death principle than YOU care about the country. YOU have the blood of 50 MILLION Americans on your hands, so don't you dare pretend to care about America!

Abortion is directly responsible for the crisis in Social Security and this is creating the market and the need to have illegal aliens as workers and taxpayers.

The hatred of life is the reason that you and others are prepared to destroy the GOP for Rooty Toot.

All of this is YOUR fault, not ours.

..if you say so.

No need to take my word for it. You'll see for yourself when your friend Rudy gets his liberal ass handed to him in the primaries and the GOP nominee wins the election.

“About the best any Republican has ever done. Reagan`s two election day accomplishments in 1980 and 1984, dwarf anything any GOP’er had done before or since.”

Reagan:

1) Loved America and it showed. Loved Americans, and it showed

2) Reagan said he would cut taxes, and minimize communism.....the only 2 things he promised, and he did both.

3) Reagan encouraged Americans to realize the Dream, and Americans listened. The economy boomed!

4) Reagan was an optimist....he encouraged Americans to be equally optimistic. Americans became more optimistic, more successful, and happier.

Reagan was a remarkable man. Those who try to bore holes in his Presidentcy here at FR are fools!!

I guess I don’t understand that cartoon. Dobson said he wouldn’t vote for someone who is not pro-life. He’s never said anything about, for example, Mitt Romney or the GOP.

His concerns about Fred Thompson are unrelated to this.

“In the end, most conservatives will back Fred. First he takes down Rooty, then he’ll take down Hillary.

Sounds like a good conservative plan to me.

We win, they lose.”

That is my prediction as well.

Even though Reagan did promise to nominate a woman to his first SCOTUS opening, his decision to choose SD O'Conner was made on poor advice from Meese and Scultz.

OTOH, Anthony Kennedy was a pro-life Republican, before he was nominated. He received endorsements from every major pro-life/right to life group in America. After several years on the high court, Kennedy started to pal around with the wrong crowd. He fell in with the liberals and became a pro-choice Republican.

Just like Ike wasn't happy with Earl Warren, Nixon wasn't pleased with Warren Burger, and Bush41 wasn't satisifed with David Souter, Reagan wasn't satisfied with Anthony Kennedy.

Reagan did get to appoint Antonin Scalia to a position on the high court. He also appointed Rehnquist to Chief Justice. Two outstanding picks. Reagan also made an attempt to get a solid conservative named Robert Bork on the SCOTUS. Ted Kennedy and Arlen Specter fought him all the way and Reagan lost that battle. If Bork had been approved, Roe v WAde might be history today.

Reagan's record on abortion is pretty good:

*Reagan supported legislation that would allow for a challenge of Roe vs. Wade, while promoting a Human Life amendment to the US Constitution.

*Reagan adopted the "Mexico City Policy" halting federal aid to private groups promoting abortions abroad.

*The Reagan admin cut off funding to the United Nations Fund for Population Activities because the global agency violated U.S. law by participating in China's mandatory abortion program.

*The Reagan admin adopted regulations prohibiting federally funded "family planning clinics" from promoting abortion as birth control.

*Reagan himself introduced the issue of fetal pain into the public debate over abortion.

*The Reagan White House blocked use of federal money for research using the tissue of aborted babies. A forerunner to banning partial birth abortion.

*The Reagan admin helped win approval of the "Danforth Amendment," which said federally funded educational institutions could not be guilty of "sex discrimination" for refusing to pay for abortions.

*The Reagan admin was key in enactment of laws protecting the right to life of handicapped newborns.

*Reagan designated a National Sanctity of Human Life Day, to recognize the value of life at all stages.

*Reagan was the first Prez to address the annual WashDC March for Life. An annual event Reagan always spoke at.

Well said, Ben.
I am currently waiting for the birth of my first great-grandchild. There were some in the family whose immediate reaction was to abort because the mother is not married, until I began to raise holy hell about it. My grand-daughter (the mother-to-be) immediately said no but was getting pressure from others because of the unwed status. To that I said, Bullsh*t. We are not going to kill one of our own. Regardless, of her marital status it is still a blessed event. Having said all that, I do not believe that not voting for Rudy or any other candidate on our side will save a single unborn, but it could help a democrat become president. That is much more than merely unacceptable. That would be tragic. If the nominees are Rudy and Hillary, a vote withheld from Rudy is a vote for naked Evil. There are far too many other dangers to protect us from than that one issue. With all due respect, preventing her from being president is also the Lord’s work.

Have you forgotten Reagan appointed Sandra Day O'Connor to SCOTUS indicating she was a strict constructionist. But this is what she actually did:

"...O'Connor's rulings on the issue of abortion were those that were perhaps most widely considered controversial. In her confirmation hearings and early days on the court, she was carefully ambiguous on the issue, as some conservatives questioned her anti-abortion credentials on the basis of certain of her votes in the Arizona legislature.

O'Connor generally dissented from opinions in the 1980s which took an expansive view of Roe v. Wade and criticized that decision's "trimester approach" sharply in her dissent in 1983's Akron v. Akron Center for Reproductive Health.

In Planned Parenthood v. Casey, O'Connor's opinion introduced a new test that reined in the unrestricted freedom from regulation during the first trimester as proscribed by Roe v. Wade. Whereas before the regulatory powers of the State could not intervene so early in the pregnancy, O'Connor opened a regulatory portal where a State could enact measures so long as they did not place an "undue burden" on a woman's right to an abortion."

Anthony Kennedy, appointed by Reagan, and David Souter, appointed by H.W. Bush, joined with O'Connor and opined abortion was still law of the land.

Now tell me how President Reagan advanced pro-life causes other than not funding abortions in military installations?

Why would YOU vote for someone who supports the murder of 3500 AMERICANS EVERY DAY?

I just saw the FNC with Giuliani AMONISHING the values voters to accept his views.

He was just missing a wagging finger.

He was calm but what an arrogance.

With regards to his wives.

The Clinton campaign already tested that one with newt.

same wtih giuliani:

Cheater vs Cheated.

Hypothetically speaking, I'm sure not gonna vote for any liberal, gay activist, gun grabbing abortionist.

How bout you?

” Take a look at the text just underneath the picture of the unborn child. Use eye, grasshopper.”

LMAO! i’ll use my eyes when you start using a brain.

the statement says “Don’t Cut and Run, vote pro-life every time.”

that implies stay true to voting for pro-life.
, does not equal “and” .

if you read it several times, i’m sure you will finally understand this is about one issue and it wasn’t talking about the entire republican platform.

once again, stay ON TOPIC and people will not have to correct you for slandering someone just because you didn’t understand the context of the subject discussed.

Guess I’ll have to tell them a thousand times, but they’ll still not understand. Free Republic is a conservative site. A pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-God, pro-constitution, pro-gun, pro-borders, pro-limited government. We fight FOR Life and Liberty!

Rudy is a constitution trampling, gun grabbing, illegal alien supporting, gay rights activist abortionist liberal. No thank you. No man who praises Margaret Sanger, NARAL, and Plannned Parenthood, or marches in Gay Day parades, or sets up sanctuary cities for illegal aliens, or sues gun manufacturers as part of his unconstitutional fight for gun control, or sues the president to stop him from using the line item veto to save taxpayer dollars will ever receive my vote. He IS the domestic enemy.

it was a different nominating process in the Reagan era and before.

It was far more accademic and dry.

Don’t forget the majority of the lawyer pool is to the left so finding an alito takes conscious effort beyond just numbers.
