The only thing that I liked about Jabba in the new edition of SW IV was that he had original footage to work with. There was a Jabba scene shot for the original film but deleted because Jabba wasn't menacing enough. (Also, it wasn't necessary because of the Greedo scene.)

That deleted scene (with the original actor, not the CGI) should be included on a SW Classic edition DVD (that will never exist).

The deleted scene was fine, but I do not like the animation of Jabba. They could have done a better job of integrating the scene into the film. That is just my crusty opinion.
