And, one could argue things have been better with gridlock and Republicans losing Congress. Suddenly, there is a lot less spending and Republicans and Bush are suddenly pushing for less spending. Funding for the Iraq war and even abstinence in public schools have continued. So, I see no negative results from the 2006 election except for the fact the Republicans have yet to learn conservatism wins elections.
Why would you think turning the party over to a liberal Republican like Schwarzenegger (which Giuliani is) would be better than turning over to a Democrat?
It would be worse, guaranteeing eight years without a conservative in the White House and guaranteeing no chance of the GOP regaining Congress.
As proven by Schwarzenegger, the same liberal legislation ends up getting passed when a liberal Republican is in office. In fact, at a national level, it is easier for a liberal Republican than liberal Democrat to pass such legislation.
“especially during these precarious times.”
All times can be precarious who is to say we wont have a bigger problem in 2016? Id like, at that, point to have a conservative in the general election and if we make it a habit to support gun grabbing, constitution stomping, abortion loving rinos now why would 8 years out be any different..
An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure..
