Ruger P345: reviews & Recommendations
10/13/2007

Posted on 10/13/2007 6:27:32 PM PDT by MichaelP

I'm considering buying a Ruger P345 for CC. The written reviews I've read are excellent. However, it has to pass the Freeper peer review board before I buy it. So what do you think?

Mike

Nice looking piece for a 9mm. I like weight.

I would not mind having one, but I will stick with my 1911.

Nice looking piece for a 9mm.

My RAMI is .40 and is much easier to conceal than a 1911 but, as I have said already, if I had to go back into combat again I would want my sidearm to be nothing less than a 1911.

One of the reasons the cylinder would need some more modifications for moon clips. The slots are at the rear of the cylinder between the chambers.

It really is a joy to shoot. Instead of the jolt from a slide working back and forth the upper only goes back far enough to rotate the cylinder. It’s that fast. And again, no noticable muzzle flip. That’s with a first generation without the compensator.

I have had a Walther P99 QA for several years. I have gone through several handgun courses including defense training. The pistol group I was in had many of the major brands including Glocks, Sigs, S&W, Taurus, etc, etc in 9mm and 45. Only one pistol went through all of the days of training without one jam, my P99.

After the last day, everyone came up to me to ask about the gun and what mods I had done to it. Other than proper cleaning etc I've never done anything to it.

If a gun won't go bang when you need it to, it's just a rock to throw. I have many firearms, but the P99 is the best pistol I've ever had.
