If they have to tear down that section and rebuild it, which they will almost certainly have to do, all meat, produce and dairy products are going to become real pricey and in short supply for everyone from there to San Diego.

Reporting Party Advsed He and His Grandmother Were Driving on North Side and Saw a Yellow Big Rig Explode, the Whole Sky Lit Up 10:44 PM

As in Yellow freight lines, or yellow, like a Ryder/rental truck?

Just curious and not jumping to conclusions yet.

I'm doing well up here -- busy. Kids & schooling & various lessons. I'm such a mom.

12:03PM	200 * MEDIA REFUSING TO CLR SCENE ADVS NOT CRIME SCENE WILL MAINTAIN POSITION

heh

If they weren't so lame in general, I'd be cheering the media for that.

What could possibly be burning that hot for this long, anyway?

No major injuries among those removed from the scene, .

If that report it true, thanks be to God. And prayers for the person unaccounted for.

Last night when I went to bed, there was a report of one person missing. This morning they’re reporting two dead.

You have to visit the Ronald Reagan museum off Madera Rd. in Simi Valley. It’s beyond being a library anymore. Men take their sweethearts there to avoid going shopping. And still end up with sweethearts reading and studying everything there for 5 hours??

I was stuck on the 5 for a little over two hours last night due to this. I managed to arrive in the area soon after the accident. In fact, I was a little over 1 mile from my exit (Roxford) parked with my car off trying not to fall asleep. I witnessed countless emergency response vehicles trying to maneuver through the mess of cars on the 5 and 405 merger. They had us all divert off at Roxford, which was fortunate for me as it was my exit and I was out of gas.

Yep, radio just said CNN is quoting CHP in saying two dead. That’s terrible.

Arnold can put through an emergency order to prioritize this.

IMO, is major sections need repairing, still look for this to be closed down no more than a month.

If this were a regular project, it would be 7-10 months before anything else would be done.

On a side not, just had rain by me this morning and it of course has traumatized my 4 pound guard dog who did not want to have any brush what so ever with moisture that did not come from himself.
You would thing the sky was falling with hailstones made of fire the way my dog looked at the sky when I was taking the little pest out.

I think we are getting close to our major weather threads again Earnest... :-)

Sure and he will have to leave at least a half hour earlier to make the train and handle the extra people.

Jeez, I fly into Burbank and drive to Lancaster/Palmdale several times a month. I’ll be back in that area in a week’s time. I guess I’ll have to find another way out there...

There was a fuel truck involved there? Those things were beefed up after the '94 earthquake. Steel can't melt inside of concrete unless the concrete is red.

I guess the herd at work on Monday will be sort of thin.
