This is the hour of night when all the news channels are on automatic pilot with the night-watch/interns running the boards.

It’ll take at least another 30 minutes to an hour for the media to get crews and anchor personnel in to present this.

Anyone have an approximate length of the Tunnel (pardon if it’s already been posted).

Thanks Global 2010. The local traffic service just now mentioned it and the guy described it as a rain related accident. I don't think they listen to the on-air show.

The helicopters are grounded due to weather.

No good visuals, no TV coverage...

If I remember correctly from my other life in Cali the problem was hot summers and then first rains the roads were as slick as snot from the creasall (sic).

Makes sense that so many big rigs would be on the road this time of night.

No commuter traffic so they can haul full speed ahead.

C'mon! If OJ or Britney were in one of those rigs, they'd find a way to get a crew up there.

The summers tend to bring road oils to the surface, then the first rain results in an asphalt surface with an oil slick, however, many of these highways/freeways are reinforced concrete.

Oil and grease drops from cars, and fine ground-in tire dust. Just and water...

Was the scanner link posted? I thought I had tried every link. Got one that showed scanner areas - but couldn’t connect to any live feed.

“Makes sense that so many big rigs would be on the road this time of night.”

You’re right, and it’s the fact that fire is coming out of both sides of the tunnel, and the fact that each rig will be occupied 1 if not 2 times...that gives me pause. Could be as many as 10 rigs in there, more depending on length of the tunnel.
