More likely this is an NEA assault on homeschoolers. "

My thoughts exactly

"Mommy's going to jail too. Good move, mom. Nice little monster you hatched."

Why would she be going to jail?

Minors can possess handguns with their parents or guardians permission. Nothing wrong with what she did. And the other “firearms” were all bb guns.

Not to mention that they found NO ammo for the 9mm. At least that’s what they said on the video.

“Minors can possess handguns with their parents or guardians permission. Nothing wrong with what she did. “

Legally? No. As a parent of someone who was obviously troubled? She’s quite negligent.

So, you think the kid is in cahoots with the NEA to stage a shooting at a school in order to make home school kids look bad?

Interesting Viewpoint.

That's a rash judgement. What makes you say that this kid was "obviously" troubled? Because he had airsoft replicas and owned a copy of the Anarchist Cookbook?

Officers recovered a 9mm assault rifle, various realistic air guns, explosive black powder and four hand grenades, one of which was active.

Authorities said the teen had been constructing the three inactive grenades in order to make them operational.

Books on how to make explosives, videos of the Columbine shooting and notebooks full of plans, and details of violent acts were also recovered from the teen's home.

Montgomery County District Attorney Bruce Castor said the 14-year-old youth, who had a 9mm semi-automatic rifle purchased by his mother, did not have any ammunition for the weapon.
...
Castor said the youth had attended Plymouth schools until 18 months ago, when his parents started home-schooling him because he was being bullied by other students.
...
The mother may also be charged, he said. The mother legally purchased the gun at a gun show, specifically for her son, said Castor. The gun has a laser sight.

Why would she be going to jail?

Perhaps, because she was keeping a live hand grenade in the same house a her delinquent kid.

You seem to forget he had all kinds of books on how too build bombs etc. One thing is for sure the boy he approached thought he was for real even if you think it is the police kooking for fame when in truth it is not. Shame on you

I bet that there are no live grenades at all...just like there is no "weapons cache".

So, if there was a live hand grenade in the house, should mom and dad be charged?

This is what he had collected up until this point

So what's the problem with collecting again?

Didn’t he threaten a “Columbine” attack on a school? Is that rational in your eyes?

I have no problem with collecting when you do it for the purpose of collecting. In this case I believe he wanted them for training to attack the school too bad you cannot see that

Castor said the youth had attended Plymouth schools until 18 months ago, when his parents started home-schooling him because he was being bullied by other students.

Now there's the real story, if you ask me. A kid bullied in the public school system is so angry and bitter that even after 18 months of being home schooled he's still plotting his revenge.

This wouldn't have happened IMO if the parents had started home schooling him earlier, before the problem got so bad -- as long as they're decent parents and he's not fundamentally unhinged to start with.

I’d forgotten that it’s illegal to own certain printed matter in the USA. A copy of The Anarchist Cookbook?

Well at least he didn’t have TM-31-201-1.
