Since insurance companes control so much of our lives already (seatbelts, smoking, helmets, and airbags all come to mind) you would think that we would be safe from danger and disease and wouldn’t need insurance anymore.

All of those restrictions or requirements are mandated by the government, except for smoking.

Insurance companies shouldn’t HAVE to cover anyone (nor should any private enterprise be restricted on who it will or will not serve) , let the market decide.
