Yes, it was genocied, but this resolution is part of a new strategy to damage our efforts in Iraq. It will be an insult to our ally, the Turks, who are being extremely helpful in the movement of equipment into Iraq and in other ways. The whole point of this is to jeopardize our relationship and their help. It is of a piece with the attack on Blackwater in the attempt to cause us to lose in Iraq by tangential means.

I agree completely, it has no real relevance today. Were I in Congress I'd bury it in some sub-committee, it's not our business, if it came to the floor I couldn't vote against it.
