[True, Senator, and we have doubts most of you would do it as President. Why should we trust you with the Oval Office when most of you have failed so miserably in the Congress?]

Seems to have been the prevailing opinion for much of my life. Maybe we should stop expecting the government to fix things.
McCain is another guy that’s starting to remind me of Ross Perot with empty platitudes - except McCain’s platitudes also contradict his record in office.
