This is what GWB had to do before he acted!

September 25, 2001

MEMORANDUM OPINION FOR THE DEPUTY COUNSEL TO THE PRESIDENT

You have asked for our opinion as to the scope of the President’s authority to take military action in response to the terrorist attacks on the United States on September 11, 2001. We conclude that the President has broad constitutional power to use military force. Congress has acknowledged this inherent executive power in both the War Powers Resolution, Pub. L. No. 93-148, 87 Stat. 555 (1973), codified at 50 U.S.C. §§ 1541-1548 (the “WPR”), and in the Joint Resolution passed by Congress on September 14, 2001, Pub. L. No. 107-40, 115 Stat. 224 (2001). Further, the President has the constitutional power not only to retaliate against any person, organization, or State suspected of involvement in terrorist attacks on the United States, but also against foreign States suspected of harboring or supporting such organizations. Finally, the President may deploy military force preemptively against terrorist organizations or the States that harbor or support them, whether or not they can be linked to the specific terrorist incidents of September 11.

Most of you know I'm supporting an FR-unacceptable candidate.

But I have a question for the FDT contingent.

I watched the debate today. Duncan Hunter was ten thousand times better than FDT. What on earth makes any of you think that FDT is MORE electable than Hunter? What's the scenario for Fred to be elected?

And if that scenario is realistic, why doesn't it apply, in spades, to Hunter?

Just askin'...

I don’t get it either, Jim.

I guess even here, there are conservatives who lack the “fire in the belly” required to run the long, hard race.

I like that Romney/Hunter idea.

We are waiting for the debate and Keith Olberman is on now I know why he is so unloved.

He just call us here at FR a bunch of kooks and then called us pyschopaths.

What a big jerk this guy is.

He can go kiss Hilllary’s feet for all I care.

You can't be that naive.

So let me get this straight...8000 votes, and the other EIGHT candidates were only able to scare up 2000 on-line votes between them? Don't any of those eight have any 'spammers' or IT people in the crowd? Please.

Check out literally any joint-degree MBA/JD program at a graduate school. My graduate school was just one of many that had this option and I know three people who went through with this very joint-degree program.

The programs are usually that much when separate, but when together, all your “electives” are chosen in the other field.

Trust me, I know the answer on this one.

suuuure and social security is just a supplement.

the prebate is an entitlement. it will become the same “free money” entitlement that democrats manipulate with social security.

The Fair Sales Tax Scam is a joke and a fraud.

As posted on the various troll threads about the fair tax here on FR. Even the simplest examination exposes very easy ways to legally avoid the “fair” tax. It will be the same as the crippling 1991 luxury tax.

Unlike the Paulbearers, the other candidates' supporters are not cult members.

Huckabee is BSing about the Fair Tax Scam.

He should just resign his campaign right there.

The Fair Tax Scam is just another entitlement program with the prebate. It will be just another democrat manipulated “free money program”.

This will be like the 1991 luxury tax that drove sales overseas.
