What if we had a CEO in charge of this country who hadn’t gone the Affirmative Action route in his choice for AG?

Where would we be right now?

Carter and Clinton were supposed to be “the smartest guys in the room,” too.

What did they ever do in the private sector?

Romney may have flaws, but he has real world experience in the privates sector and as an executive in the public sector.

‘Excellent point. Any bets? I’m laying McCain 2:1, Gulliani 3:1’

Thompson or Ron Paul.

I say this because both need a ‘big night’ and that would get the internet buzzing for days afterwards.

McCain attack the guy that propped him up in 2000? I doubt it.

Guiliani might, it dovetails into this attacks on Clinton and company, given Mathews lefwingnut sputterings.

Be very, very careful with your ABH, friend.

Those who will vote for "anyone" to defeat someone they most dislike, just might get much worse in the bargain, as I personally believe, Rudy, Mitt, and Fred to be.

You wind up supporting someone that you don't agree with merely to not get whom you agree with.

Check out history to find out how bad those kinds of decisions have been.

I agree w/Ann Coulter and Rush, the primaries haven't even been held yet, so hold notify as many people in the early states who get some chance to pick. Even then, there will most likely be higher percentages for "others" than for these so-called "front runners."

Remember, these people are only "front runners" to the media and other elites NOT the general public!

Most successful leaders are successful because the select the right people and give those people the authority and responsibility to achieve certain goals. Reagan was great for these reasons. Jimmy Carter and Clinton tended to micromanage and were not successful.

Yup us pathetic 100%’s who wont give up on Life, the 2nd amendment, and the size of government just so we can put an R in office...

Thompson is not my first pick (its probably Huckabee) but I sure would be able to pull the lever for him in the general. But as for Willard, Trudy, and McLame ill either sit home or vote third party..

“Fred has a law degree AND experience practicing it, plus plenty of experience in government.”

And an Actor! Don’t forget that too. He’s a good actor. And a lobbyist, don’t leave that out - you’re short changing him.

"Romney is a successful businessman. Big difference."

So am I. doesn't mean I'd be a good POTUS. Considering Rommeys views on abortion and gun ownership, neither would he.

You have no idea what you are talking about with Romney and Bain. He co-founded a hugely successful firm.

Those Salt Lake Olympics were a real bust as well.

Liberty is the *MAIN* thing that makes up a hyper power in the world. Our kids in Iraq are not laying out on the line for economics, nor have any of our fallen heroes throughout history died for a tax bracket or good fiscal policy they did it for liberty!

Mitt governs way to close to the left for my taste (’I will protect the right to choose, I dont line up with the NRA’), rudy is not only wrong on the social issues his first instincts are *always* authoritarian, McCain decided the government should censure political speech whos that leave?

"A CEO is measured by the success of the people under him/her.” Is that how they get hired? When they take over a new company does he/her take all the employees with them? What about someone who starts a company from scratch? Sorry your logic escapes me."

obviously you aren't a good businessman.

A good CEO does bring people with him, either directly or indirectly. These are people who you've added to your network and learned to trust and do business with along your climb to top jobs in corporate America, which eventually gave you that first CEO position.

Plus Fred is a conservative.

I don’t think Fred is the conservative all his supporters think he is. They guy was a big supporter of CFR and was against Tort Reform.

Economic strength provides a whole lot of liberty. Pays for the best military in the world, allows us a higher standard of living than just about anywhere else in the world, allows people a path to be responsible for themselves and their dependents and it allows us to influence what goes on in the world. Poor nations and those with bad economic policies are far more unstable and far more restrictive of personal liberties.

Whoever gets the job had better know what they are doing when it comes to matters involving dollars and cents. Romney has that knowledge. Too bad he has real weaknesses in other important areas.

“Carter was a nuclear physisist “

Carter was not a nuclear physicist. He took the necessary courses in the Navy to operate in the nuclear navy. The course work was called “nuclear engineering,” but the term “engineer” sometimes is used very loosely.

"I don’t think Fred is the conservative all his supporters think he is."

well, if you think Fred isn't a conservative, then Rommey must be a far left moonbat, because he certainly is far left of Fred. It's evident what people think of Fred,as well as what they think of Rommey which is why Fred is way ahead of him in the polls.

Actually, the smartest, most authentic, most honest guy with a real conservative track record that has never changed and everyone can check, is Duncan Hunter!

Well now, isn't that special?

“Got something against good actors?”

Let’s just say it’s not high on my criteria for President. Reagan was a successful Governor, ie. executive. I wouldn’t put Thompson and Reagan in the same sentence.

WRT to what makes a good CEO, whether you use my logic or yours, it bolsters my argument, that Romney has shown leadership and success in the private sector.

Romney is supposed to be brilliant because he has a Hahvaad MBA. Of course, GWB has one also and he is supposed to be stupid. The MSM can’t get the frame straight.
