There has never been another election like this in all of our history – it is for all or nothing … literally.
We will either win everything we have worked for in the last three and a half decades or we will lose it all. Beyond losing the chance to restore protection to unborn children in our lifetime, we face losing every single pro-life law we have passed in the last 34 years. Parental notice, parental consent, the woman's right to know law, waiting periods, fetal homicide, abortion funding restrictions, partial-birth abortion bans – all gone – wiped off the books in every single state with the promised signature of Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama to the radical "Freedom of Choice Act," or FOCA.

I’ll be voting for the candidate that advocates smaller, less intrusive government. And Huckabee is pretty far from that.

Illegal aliens begin with one crime, and continue to commit subsequent crimes from the very moment they step foot in the United States.
You haven't done your homework when it comes to Illegal immigrants and the Rev. Huckabees attitude toward them once they are here.
To put it simply..he applies the "WWJD" attitude.

It seems like it's moving at warp speed. SCHIP, $5000 baby bonds, and the headlong rush to normalize homosexual behavior.
I've been fighting my own battles, with a few other conservatives, on my alumni blogs. I have observed a common thread among the liberals who live on the East & West Coasts: a cluelessness about the values espoused by more conservative citizens living in flyover country that borders on condescension.
It's taken me a good two years to make inroads. At the very least, I haven't heard much in the way of reductio ad Hitlerum, i.e. "Bush = Hitler, in the past six months!
I will say, though, that these liberals also despise the gotcha politics in the Beltway, and they are not at all comfortable with the thought of Hillary Clinton making a return trip to the White House.
A lot of people are saying that Huckabee called for a national smoking ban.
This appears to me to be not literally true. I was looking for a source for this over the weekend and couldn't find one.
I gather that what Huckabee did say was that he would not veto a bill banning workplace smoking if it came to him as President. This to me is not quite the same thing as "calling for a national smoking ban". I suppose that almost all of the candidates, if asked the question just like Huckabee, would say they would not veto one if if Congress sent it to them. If I'm wrong, I would really appreciate a link to this. The only reference I could find was him saying that he would not veto one if it came to him.
I am not aware of him being week on the war (other than that he kind of pandered by saying that we broke it so now we have to fix it) his previous stance on illegal aliens does concern me. However, I am more willing to accept a road to des moines conversion on this issue than on the life issue. Also, it does not appear that he has the backing of big business interests (since he has had a lot of trouble raising money) so if he is nominated it will be the conservatives and not the Country Club wing of the Republican Party who put him in power. I don’t think he will forget this and thus I would be surprised if he stabs us in the back on immigration. Unlike Bush who was always the darling of the Country Club wing and ultimately proved that he cared more about them than about us.
Why is it that people refuse to see the perfect candidate for the whole party?
Duncan Hunter, great WOT fighter, pro life. tough on illegal immigration.
The MSM and the GOP won’t push him because they want open borders.

What about Huckabees position on the FAIR tax. Eliminating the IRS would be the most drastic cut in the power of the federal government that any candidate (other than Ron Paul who is ineligible for obvious reasons and Duncan Hunter who has also backed the FAIR tax but doesn’t seem as excited about it) has advocated. Surely, his strong support for the FAIR tax is supporting a smaller, less intrusive government.
What this country needs is a headlong shift back to federalism. There is waaaayyyyyyy too much power residing inside the Beltway. And the only candidate I see talking about federalism is my man, Fred Thompson.
He could trip over his johnson 50 times tonight, and I won't care. I've seen him in action, and I firmly believe he'd make an excellent president.
Tonight's "debate" with Chrissy Matthews is going to be a sham, and it will likely be viewed by less than 1% of this country's population. I'm going to watch it to see if anybody dares to make Chrissy snap.
But it doesn't contradict his action of allowing the illegals who make it through and do not committ other crimes to collect welfare benefits intended for citizens and legal aliens and financed by the taxes of the same.
Thats perfectly reasonable. I wish Huckabee had a better track record on illegals - he really is not anywhere near as good as Duncan Hunter on this issue. It just looks like Huckabee is the candidate that the religious right is going to unify around and if they do so then he is the one candidate that might have a chance of actually defeating Rudy T. McRomney for the nomination. For that reason, I am inclined to cut him some slack. Also, he seems like a man with good moral character (unlike Rudy) so I doubt that he would completely break his campaign promise to crack down on illegal immigration.
Not vetoing is acceptance of the law.
Huckabee answered "I certainly will".
The Huckster is running all over the country saying he didn't ban smoking in "restaurants and bars" in Arkansas. THAT IS A LIE! He banned smoking in all public places, including the work place, and especially Restaurants.
Only Bars are excluded.
Furthermore, he has a son who is as large as a house, and should focus on the health of his OWN family before he preaches to the great unwashed.

I just listened to Chris Matthews interviewing Mr. Huckabee. Mr. Huckabee said that he would CERTAINLY SIGN such a bill.
Well, my bottom line is this. I will vote for whoever wins the nomination, with just a couple of exceptions. Frankly, Huck was not any worse than Rudy T. McRomney on illegals. But I have a few other bones to pick with him. I’m not even worrying about Hillary until after we select our guy.
Come to Ohio and experience this type of statism for yourself. There is not ONE place in the entire state of Ohio where adults can be adults. There is not ONE place where adult men can get together, enjoy a cigar and a chat amongst themselves. Apparently, our law is much worse than that of Arkansas. Think about it, peopdle — I’m just giving you some heads-up information. Do with it what you will. I have not chosen a candidate as of yet — I want to see them duke it out. But, Huckabee was the first to show what he showed.
I will not vote for Huckabee and I am tired of people trying to choose who I should vote for.
