Sure. He mentions it in his book. I've also read that Scalia and Ginsburg are good friends too. Let's face it, such a small group of individuals which is historically enshrouded in esclusivity is more than likely to form strong personal bonds regardless of political views.

Now, Court insiders say, Scalia and O'Connor get along comfortably, though Scalia's best friend on the Court is Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, with whom he served on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit. Justice David Souter, it has been said, is Scalia's least favorite. Scalia has also lamented to friends that Thomas, his closest voting partner, has never become a close friend.

I was surprised (from that 60 Minutes segment) of how the Supremes are so isolated - though Congressman Billybob has said pretty much the same thing. Judge Thomas obviously gets out and about in his RV to see what we commoners have to say. Way cool! A huge part of our problems with our judiciary branch is the judges seeing themselves as a separate and privileged class above we mere mortals because of the way we set them up.

I was behind a Porche sporting a “Judicial” plate today and knew that individual garnered as much deference as someone driving a police car - even if that person was a trust fund case whose position was bought. Judges on all levels need a policing system like the other branches where the criminals among them can be removed through impeachment, recall or other means. This “judge for life” thing is too abused to allow to continue. They are just humans.
