Favorite sandwich? There is no such thing. I enjoy just about any sandwich made - except watercress and cucumber. Not quite my cup o’ tea, that.

Okay - well, bratwurst with spicy German mustard and sauerkraut on broetchen ranks up there. The Reuben is oft ordered, as is the Philly Cheese Steak.

Hot fluffy biscuits with sausage patties and pepper jack are great breakfast fare.

You can’t beat a cheese quesadilla for a lunchtime snack, especially if you add a few slices of razor-thin ham to ‘em!

And cheeseburgers! Oh yeah, gotta add cheeseburgers to the list - with dill pickle slices and a slice of sharp cheddar - yumm-o, as Rachel Ray would say!

Gotta try that....but I like 'em with sliced jalapenos.

In NY on leave, a friend and his wife took me to Gus' Antique Bar and Grill in Cold Spring just so I could taste the best burger in the world. Just a grilled sirloin burger on a crusty roll with lettuce and tomato and onion (no special sauce, no catsup, no mayo). Came with home fries and a kosher dill pickle. It was the best in the world.

Along the highway, I can pick up a small Ahi from local fishermen for a couple bucks, clean and bone it and steam it, shred it for the best tasting tuna fish salad going. Put that on freshly baked rolls with any condiments you choose and you'll never buy canned tuna again.
