Allen couldn’t even hang on to his own senate seat. No way do you want the Macaca moment played again ad nauseum for the whole of next year. Allen is a liability, not an asset, and will probably never run for public office again.
The ‘macaca’ thing has nothing to do with Thompson. George Allen has excellent recent experience in the political realm, and will be an asset to the campaign.
