Elizabeth [Edwards] questions Limbaugh's draft deferment
Politico ^ | 10/4/07 | Ben Smith

Posted on 10/04/2007 1:26:54 PM PDT by Roberts

An Air America producer just sent over some transcript from an interview their Richard Greene (not our Richard Greene) conducted with Elizabeth Edwards, in which she questioned Rush Limbaugh's Vietnam exemption:

My classmates went to Vietnam, he did not. He was 4F. He had a medical disability, the same medical disability that probably should have stopped him from spending a lifetime in a radio announcer’s chair; but it is true, isn’t it? If he has an inoperable position that allows him not to serve, presumably it should not allow him to sit for long periods of time the way he does. I think this is a serious enough offense for the people who fund him, who buy ads and allow him to be on the air, need to be asked if this is what they really stand for, do they think it is alright for someone who has never served to denigrate the men and women who have simply because they are expressing an opinion. Frankly, I thought that is what we are fighting for.

In the interview, Edwards also suggested that John Kerry shouldn't have conceded when he did in 2004.

RG: Were you disappointed that Senator Kerry conceded as quickly as he did?

EE: I was very disappointed, not just because we did not count the votes, but because we promised people that if they stood in line and fought for the right to vote, that we would fight with them. And I was very disappointed that the decision was made by the campaign, over John’s objection, not to fight.

Yo, Elizabeth, were YOU in Vietnam during the war? You could have volunteered. The Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines were taking walk-ins, even back then.
If not, STFU.

“Inescapable logic for someone whose brains are in their ass and talks out of the same orifice.”

I think John Edwards didn’t serve because he was unsure of his gender.

They are floaters. You flush and flush, but they never go down.

I’m just curious.

When he ran as VP with Kerry, he played the woman in that relationship. It’s becoming quite apparent he’s the “woman” in this marriage.

Does this mean he’s running to be “First Lady”? If so, they had better correct those papers and apply his wife’s name to the Presidential slot.

I had the same condition as Limbaugh and was classified 4F. It is an operable condition although in the mid 60’s when I had the surgery it probably wasn’t as neatly done then as it is now. I had to endure 3 surgeries to get it finally resolved. He may have elected not to have the surgery, it was no fun. After I healed up I enlisted and spent 20 years in the Army. I can’t fault him for not getting the surgery if in fact he didn’t, after all it is elective.

If anything Rush funds the advertisers.

That's what I was saying.

They did not. Both were of age. John Boy is 2 years younger than Rush & Lizzie is 2 years older than Rush.

I think I have just coined a new acronym: MIGO, Man In Genitalia Only.

Your thoughts?

The left still doesn't get it that conservative talk radio is not the beggar's and stealer's operations that NPR and Airhead America are. They are money-making enterprises because they offer a product that people believe is worth paying for.

Rush doesn't need his advertisers nearly as much as they need him.

In her place I would be more concerned why the hubby is paying such big bucks to his hairdresser.

I’m conjuring up a vision of Chevy Chase in Caddyshack where he explains to Lacy Underalls how he avoided the Draft. He starts to limp and says; “Homo”.

The libs realize they stuck their foot in it after Rush re-iterated that his phony soldier comment was specifically about Jesse MacBeth and his ilk. Now they’re just throwing their little hissy fit.

It’s a good thing the left are compassionate and open minded...can you imagine the slander if they weren’t?

Lots of people who got rejected for health reasons went on to lead normal lives. Howard Dean had his back injury and went skiing. Jack Kemp had bad knees and went on to play football. As one military expert said (approximately) “you can always stop the football game if someone’s knees buckle. But you can’t stop a battle for that reason.”

Joe Namath had bad knees and was rejected by the Army to serve a consolation career in football. Cassius Clay became Muhummad Ali and was suddenly a CO, free to pursue a career in non-violent boxing. John Kerry joined the Navy and after four months in Vietnam endangering his shipmates he was sent packing.

And why, exactly, didn?t John serve????

He told the draft board he played with dolls and dreamed of marrying Ken when he grew up.

Well Mrs. Silky Pony, your so-called husband was born in 1953, why didn’t he serve? Did he get a deferment for being too effeminate?

Rush is going to love this! LOL!

Yes, he will...and when he responds to Mrs. Breck Girl, he will then be accused of attacking cancer patients. The fund raising letters will start pouring out, the Breast Cancer Walk will turn into an anti-Rush rally, etc. Can you see it now?
