One would think that Elizabeth needs her rest now more than ever. I’m sure she wouldn’t like her physical condition being second-guessed by Mr. Limbaugh, or me either for that matter. However, Mr. Edwards appears a bit selfish and egotistical (as in arrogant entitlement to be President) to send her out into the fray to strain her emotional candle on such drivel just so he can “be President”. (Hint: He ain’t likely to - sorry. I think he needs to let her rest so she can put all her energy on getting well.) - Best wishes to Elizabeth Edwards on her fight against a dreaded disease; I truly do wish her well.

Im not even sure that is correct though...I think she has the b-—s in that family.

I guess your view gets skewed when your hubby once ran with the infamous Did you know I was in VietNam Kerry.

The most tragic thing about Elizabeth Edwards is that her disgusting pimp of a husband is using this ill woman in his doomed desire to become president. Instead of spending her last remaining days, whatever they may be, as a family, the Breck Girl has sacrificed it all for a grab at power. Just disgusting.

However. . .(here comes the inevitable however). . .she has now lost most of my sympathy with this nonesense.

Wise up, lady. You’re in no position to start throwing stones in your little glass house. If you want respect for your own private, personal pain, then you had better keep your nose out of other peoples’ business.

Is Elizabeth Edwards so stupid as not to realize that hubby John is throwing away what time she has left?

They probably feel that she is beyond criticism because of her medical condition. Guess what? She’s not.

I knew when I saw the suggestion of military service for voting rights that a Freeper would mention Starship Troopers.

And I must point out that the voting franchise was granted for nonmilitary service as well. As pointed out in this thread, many people are not a good fit for military service.

To vote you just have to be an adult, a citizen (for now), a resident, and care enough to get your behind to the polls. Almost 40% of Americans don’t bother to exercise their voting rights.

Remember everyone she has Cancer. Cancer. Cancer, Cancer. She is very very sick. Very Very Sick. Do not attack her, she is very sick. They told us she was very sick and was not to be disputed, she has very serious cancer. So let’s just let her say anything, everything she wants all the time. She has cancer. Oh yeah, and John Kerry was in Vietnam.

This was a great response from a poster:

“Of course, Edwards himself hasn?t always been forthright about his own military record - or rather, lack thereof. In April, NBC ?Today Show? host Katie Couric asked him where he was during Vietnam. The exchange went like this: COURIC: Your military service, before we go? EDWARDS: I - I did not serve in the military. COURIC: You had a high lottery number, is that right? EDWARDS: I did, and I came after - after the time that they were actually drafting from the lottery, Katie. I?m 50 years old. And because at the time I came along and graduated from high school and then - and then went to college, I was not drafted. [END OF EXCERPT] A high lottery number? Not exactly. Pulling number 178 in the February 1972 Selective Service lottery drawing, Edwards? number was lower than more than half of those picked. And what about the claim that he ?came after the time that they were actually drafting from the lottery.? That?s not strictly true either. The year Edwards became eligible for the draft, the military drafted 49,514 men, according to Selective Service records - tapping draftees who had lottery numbers as high as 95. The draft was abolished in July 1973. But even that year, 646 young men born the same year as Edwards were inducted into the military.”

This whole bloody thing boggles my mind! Doesn’t Ms. Edwards realize that the people who listen to Rush would never trust what she says (or any Dem)? Even if Rush had been caught red handed saying something truly bad, it wouldn’t matter. Talking about wasting breath!
