Are you saying you have to attend a church to be a christian?

No. But I am saying that if you don't love what Christ loves, something is wrong with you. If you "follow the teachings of Christ," you'd not forsake the gathering together of the saints, e.g., church.

You're free to disregard the Bride of Christ, of course. That's between you and God.

How do you know that I don’t love what Christ loves? There is nothing wrong with my relationship with Christ. I am a sinner (unlike you, obviously). I do try to follow the teachings of Christ and I don’t forsake the gathering of believers. But the church you speak of is just a building. Now if you’re talking about “The Church”, it encompasses the whole body of believers of which Christ is the Head. I struggled here for a while because you came off really pious and that’s a real turn-off for other christians, now just imagine a non-believer hearing you. I’m “free to disregard the Bride of Christ”? That’s rich. Now if I was less grounded in my faith I might actually feel threatened by your comment, but I’m not. Like I said religion is man-made. You say it’s between God and I but then you say something is wrong with me? Make up your mind. FYI....you don’t have to go to church to gather together with other believers. But if you need a building to feel closer to God....that’s your bag. I open up the Bible to feel closer to God, and with what I read I try to apply that to my life and toward others. And I pray that others can come to know the God I love and understand the supreme sacrifice He gave because He loves us so much even though we are sinners.
