I was serving overseas (Ramstein AB, Germany) back in 1994-5 when we got Rush on AFRTS in the first place. The fight to get him was just that, a fight, as DoD didn’t want to cross the Clinton administration, which was dead set against Rush. They raised such a stink about how Rush would “brain-wash” us. Now, for years we had (on radio) PBS’s “All Things (Liberal) Considered”, Meet the Press, This Week, ABCCBSNBCPBS and CNN News as well. But only Rush would brainwash us.
The republicans had just wrestled control of Congress from the Dems, and AFRTS got Rush. But only his first hour. Even in defeat, the Clinton’s tried to poison the well.
I do think it matters a whole lot less due to the internet. A Rush 24/7 subscriber can pick up all his broadcasts worldwide, and most overseas bases, even in Iraq/Afghanistan, have TCP/IP drops you can connect to. No one in uniform minds if you listen to Rush, in fact, they’d probably listen with you.
Rush had a program to get free 24/7 subscriptions out to GIs world wide. We should ensure all our troops know about this and get help signing up.
You know, there is a logic to that. Because if Hillary has a better record as President than Bill did, I don't think he could live with that. He's already having legacy issues, and helping her get elected may not be enough for his ego.

It's too scary to contemplate.

Ted Turner picked Buchanan and Novak as the "faces of conservatism" he chose to feature on CNN. That's all I needed to know to instantly dismiss virtually anything they have ever said.
The Buchananites and their kindred spirits the Perotistas have now segued happily over to the Paulian camp, and are perfectly content to snuggle up with the 911 truthers. I've known a few of these wing nuts in my day and they really are full goose bozos and bug house nuts.
Important caveat to the above: there are good and honest people who have supported all three of those movements I mentioned. I consider them to have been deceived into that support and not people who would tolerate the truthers or other fringe types these candidacies attract. The folks I'm talking about when I use the phrases "Buchananites," "Perotistas," and now "Paulians" are the irrational and ignorant who make up too much of the support these types draw.

We were in Nurnberg at that time. Afer all the controversy in the S&S about Rush, I had to tune him in to see what the big deal was. Have been hooked ever since.
Seems a flight with 200 troops it was on the way to another destination and the troops aboard were fenced in and not allowed dot enter the depot.

My wife is an immigrant (now citizen) and we spent several months practicing for the citizenship test.

I don’t find the new questions to be all that horrible.
I assume everything the feds do with immigration to be de facto stupid, but this is one of the lesser of its many many evils.
