Great point. This was an “honor beating.” All strict Muslims would understand.

Hmm. Not really seeing the difference between beating a 17 year old male up( in a lot of cases, this guy is cosidered a man ) for acting innapropriately and killing a female who has been raped( an "honor killing)" , are ya? The point of beating the 17 year old is two fold.
Point one- Punish the fellow who committed statuatory rape upon your daughter. She's 15 years old. He's 17. Unless there is a family bond with this guy ( which it sounds like there isnt), this guy is basically using his daughter for Sex. Its wrong.

Point two. Teach him a lesson. He should know its wrong and there are penalties to pay for doing wrong. Its unlikely the guys going to jail over it, or paying fines, or doing comunity service, but its wrong nonetheless and the guy deserves to be taught. I would guess this guy will no longer mess with the daughter without thinking it over very, very carefully. As a boneheaded guy who was once chased by a girls dad ( in his underwear and with a shotgun) , I guarantee, I learned more from my beatings than I ever learned from my successes in life. Men holding me immediately accountable for my bad behavior taught me a LOT. Hopefully, this young guy learns something about the sanctitiy of young females and the respect one should pay them.
Well, O.k - its threefold. Probably made the dad feel a lot better, although he;s going to now have to deal with some legal crud, and a daughter whose not happy with him.
At what point did it become bad for a dad to defend his daughter against men taking sexual advantage of her?

And for the eventual argument that "It takes two to tango" , she's a 15 year old girl. She;s not fully grown nor is she able to discern love from sex. An older guy is showing her attention to get into her pants.
I had three sisters growing up and saw it first hand.It causes problems that last years and possibly a lifetime for that girl, and a dad willing to take a stand to keep that from happening, is doing the right thing in my book.

I have two daughters now, and applaud this gentleman for his actions. He now needs to explain to the daughter why he did it and tell the young man he forgives him but will beat his little butt again if he tries to have sex with his underage daughter. Flame away. Ps- Yes I'm christian. I know I'm imperfect and should work on it. ;-)
