Oregon has abandoned the concept of assimilation and English immersion, and is now using official matierials from the Mexican government itself. The Reconquista proceeds apace, with the help of American teachers unions.

It happens sometimes, and this is one of those times: I’m speechless.

Great. Our tax dollars at work
It wouldn’t be so pathetic if it weren’t for the fact that so many English speaking kids come out of high school ignorant.

One of the biggest challenges will be finding more Spanish-speaking instructors, said Burk of the Oregon Department of Education. Remember all those Mexicans that want to do those jobs Americans don't want to do? /s

Outrageous.
"The availability of resources is astounding," said Burk, who flew to Mexico with Oregon curriculum officials in August to discuss making equivalency standards official. "We're able to serve the students so much better if we're working together."
The availability of resources in America is astounding too. All you have to do is LEARN THE LANGUAGE! I don't think that is too much to ask for, is it? I mean, after all, you are in school. How about teaching English? Yet another reason for homeschooling.

I wonder if there is really much difference between the mex stuff and the curriculum of the Ore pube schools.

Great, so now even when in the USA, our illegals and anchor kids will be taught to push for reconquista, which is the curriculum in Mexican texts.
A country this stupid won’t survive.

Oregon has become a pitiful excuse for a state. Let’s hope this program is a BIG success and they are able to “help” MILLIONS of young mexican burglars to steal everything they can before slinking back to their home country.

...to continue an education often abandoned back home due to limited resources. I believe that we American taxpayers have limited resources too. Apparently the sheep in OR, TX, etc., however, have no end to patience and paying for the foreign invasion.

Insanity! Why would we teach Americans the mexican curriculum? Yes, I said Americans! They live here, LEGALLY, they are American. NOT MEXICAN!
They can have their culture, just not in schools. I don’t care how long it takes them to learn English, they better since english speaking americans have to learn Spanish.
If we do this, we mine as well teach the chinese their curriculum and so on.
This is a mistake. We are being WAY to nice to spanihs-speakers in the U.S.A. What kind of a country are we becoming? The people in Iraq are dying for a country that is falling apart.
