Iranian president intends to visit Ground Zero "he'll go despite NYPD rejection"
WABC-TV ^ | September 19, 2007 | WABC

Posted on 09/20/2007 6:22:30 AM PDT by Tulsa Ramjet

A law enforcement source says the Iranian mission to the United Nations has informed the Secret Service that the Iranian president intends to visit Ground Zero Monday at 10 a.m.

The source says regardless of the NYPD's rejection of the request for a Ground Zero tour, Iran's president and his entourage will be accompanied by a Secret Service protective detail, a detail provided to all heads of state when they visit the United States.

While I agree, I think the ‘sactity’ of the site isn’t the central issue here.

I think that there’s an opportunity to assassinate a genocidal tyrant.

What I find sort of strange, is that there isn’t a question that if any of us would have had the opportunity to assassinate Sadaam Hussein, either in the 1990’s, or in GWII, not only would they have been congratulated, they’d have become wealthy.

They are having gasoline riots in Iran right now. It’s not like this guy rebuilt Germany, arrested inflation, built the Autobahn, and restored national pride to a fallen Germany.

Nope, this guy has been propping up an insurgency in Iraq that has cost us both money and blood. We have a mountain of evidence supporting this.

If this animal is stupid enough to set foot on enemy soil during a war, I’d like to know why killing him isn’t an average citizen’s outright responsibility?

The fact that he’s going to speak at Columbia, in my mind, is every bit as bad as him going to visit Ground Zero.

Israel has been quiet about the entire matter. Perhaps, yet again, they might have the courage to do what is so obviously right. I’m amazed, and not a little appalled, that this very subject hasn’t been raised in the popular press, by any celebrity, by Ann Coulter, by no one.

Don't worry... some are just highly upset right now...they will probably drink themselves into a stupor before they show up.

If Nutjob dares to set foot on GZ, there will be a protest. I'm sure of that.

Sadly, you are probably right. However I do believe there are people within government who still are intent on representing the people and the foundation principles and intent of this Republic. The fact that the NYPD directly stated that it was not going to be allowed shows that...but only if they back it up.

Having said that:

#1) As an individual, never announce, publically or otherwise. Doing so will have already foiled any civil (or not so civil) attempt you may have been contemplating.

#2) Whatever is done needs to not play into the hands of the Islamic jihadists. This POS (that's Piece of Shi'it) needs to be barred from the site and completely humiliated in the process...not made a martyr of.

#3) New York City and its citizens there should rise as one to prevent this. They have until Monday. A wall of ten or fifty thousand people barring access is something in my mind that would accomplish number two above.

Let’s arrest him.

And hold him for 444 days. Although occasionally, we could lead him out blindfolded for a photo op.

His movements in the US should be restricted to a drive from the airport to the UN and back.

Bender2, that would be a real "dream come true"...and one I would be willing to pray for...and one this bum would also gladly give you $100 for if it were to come to pass.

I'm on record.

maybe we should all bring our pet pigs down for the celebration if it wouldn’t traumatize them too much to be in the same air space as this pig hater

Any way anyone can stop him?

Yeah. Bush can. But will he?

From Bush's speech this morning, his answer to that question was it was up to the local NYPD to stop/allow him, so apparently he's not going to get involved. (((shaking head))))

>>However, I also disagree that the NYPD (though the Ciy government) does not have the right to indicate where people can and cannot visit. If the NY city government believes that there is a credible threat to the city, then they have the right to withhold a permit for said visit. And when a leader of a nation wants to visit a site, with all their enterage and security, I believe a permit is appropriate.<<

If that were the case I would agree. But are they really going to be able to claim he is a credible threat while he has secret service with him?

He should be arrested and tried for the crimes he committed as one of those who took our people hostage.

The administration is too busy planning the next end of Ramadan White House dinner.

It’s appalling, but not surprising, that the President is allowing this. He could put an end to this if he wanted to.

The UN is on our property yet they act like this country is their personal playground and anything goes. We have come this far that we will allow enemies that have threatened us to come to our soil and spit in our faces and make a mockery of us.

We should NOT have to be gathering to protest this. The President should have dealt with this man already. He should have refused this man entry into our country. Who knows what he could be bringing with him? What is the UN going to do about it? Stamp their feet in protest? Get mad at Bush? Bring their army in to confront him?

It is also appalling that he is being allowed to speak at a university here and spout his propraganda. Free speech is a right of Americans. It does not have to be granted to our enemies who come to our soil to mock and spit in our faces. He should be told airport, UN, airport and bye-bye. Would any other country allow more than that to one of their enemies? If so, then let them host the UN from now on.

To any country who protests all Bush has to say is that if they do not like the way we run things here the UN is welcome to roll up the carpet and take it elsewhere. And that his first responsibility is to the American people who he has sworn to protect. What are they going to say to that?

At this point Bush has nothing to lose anymore yet he stands by and says and does nothing. You’ve heard rape victims say that testifying against their attackers was like being raped all over again? Well allowing this animal to visit ground zero is like being raped all over again President Bush. You are supposed to be our leader. LEAD for crying out loud.

I fear that the time has passed for this country and it’s leaders to wake up. The future of America is very dim indeed. I probably won’t be alive to see it’s final death throes but my grandchildren probably will.

With one pit stop at Barbara Streisand and Jimmy Boy Brolin's NYC apartment for some political debriefing.

Apparently not that surprising. This is the man, after all, who seems to believe that how someone enters this country and where they go is not a matter for the federa government. He could stop this in an instant. He won't.

Of course...due to the potantial citizen reaction and the potential for violence. In this case, those are valid grounds and reason enough to say no, IMHO.

And I hope, if he follows through and tries to visit the site, that the people of New York will bear that out...by the tens of thousands.
