Obama's Church Website has Changed.
Trinity Church Website ^ | current | Trinity Church Website

Several months ago I posted Obama's Church Website on this forum. Well, it's changed. It's been "softened". This is what was written there originally:

We are a congregation which is Unashamedly Black and Unapologetically Christian... Our roots in the Black religious experience and tradition are deep, lasting and permanent. We are an African people, and remain "true to our native land," the mother continent, the cradle of civilization. God has superintended our pilgrimage through the days of slavery, the days of segregation, and the long night of racism. It is God who gives us the strength and courage to continuously address injustice as a people, and as a congregation. We constantly affirm our trust in God through cultural expression of a Black worship service and ministries which address the Black Community.

Trinity United Church of Christ adopted the Black Value System written by the Manford Byrd Recognition Committee chaired by Vallmer Jordan in 1981. We believe in the following 12 precepts and covenantal statements. These Black Ethics must be taught and exemplified in homes, churches, nurseries and schools, wherever Blacks are gathered. They must reflect on the following concepts:

1. Commitment to God 2. Commitment to the Black Community 3. Commitment to the Black Family 4. Dedication to the Pursuit of Education 5. Dedication to the Pursuit of Excellence 6. Adherence to the Black Work Ethic 7. Commitment to Self-Discipline and Self-Respect 8. Disavowal of the Pursuit of "Middleclassness" 9. Pledge to make the fruits of all developing and acquired skills available to the Black Community 10. Pledge to Allocate Regularly, a Portion of Personal Resources for Strengthening and Supporting Black Institutions 11. Pledge allegiance to all Black leadership who espouse and embrace the Black Value System 12. Personal commitment to embracement of the Black Value System.

The Pastor as well as the membership of Trinity United Church of Christ is committed to a 10-point Vision:

1. A congregation committed to ADORATION. 2. A congregation preaching SALVATION. 3. A congregation actively seeking RECONCILIATION. 4. A congregation with a non-negotiable COMMITMENT TO AFRICA. 5. A congregation committed to BIBLICAL EDUCATION. 6. A congregation committed to CULTURAL EDUCATION. 7. A congregation committed to the HISTORICAL EDUCATION OF AFRICAN PEOPLE IN DIASPORA. 8. A congregation committed to LIBERATION. 9. A congregation committed to RESTORATION. 10. A congregation working towards ECONOMIC PARITY.

Now only the more moderate 10 point vision stuff is left. I guess all that disovowal of the middle class stuff wasn't playing too well. Unfortuately for them, FR has pretty much documented the original.

TOPICS: Culture/Society; Politics/Elections
KEYWORDS: jeremiahwright; obama; obamaschurch; trinitychurch; ucc
The very racist sounding first part has been removed, and on the next page is a defense by the pastor on how they were featured on Hannity and Colmes and how they have been oppressed by "others". In other words, anything that could possibly damage Obama has been removed.

It’s amazing that the MSM could’nt locate this website.

Too late for the empty suit.

Has anyone ever seen an interview with his “white mother”?

6. Adherence to the Black Work Ethic

Isn't that one fo those phrases that contradicts itself? You know, like "jumbo shrimp" or "government initiative"?

Yes, an Oxymoron.

God has superintended our pilgrimage through the days of slavery, the days of segregation, and the long night of racism.

How does this relate to Osamaboma?

The nasty “S” (slavery) word only is brought up when it benefits their cause.I am so sick of hearing about slavery ,racism (this church’s ad is “reverse racism!”)I totally agree. How does this relate to Obama?Surly this church does not exemplify all of the black race. I had the honor of being good friends with a wonderful, elderly black lady years ago .She had the priviledge of having George Washington Carver for a professor at Tuskegee Institute. She related many stories of her experiences as his pupil and friend. He was a man who did not “spend his days wringing his hands and whining about the whites oppression of the blacks. He founded this university ,gave educations to many black youth who could not afford it otherwise. No let me rephrase that. They earned their education while attending the university. He was a gentleman who did not allow blacks to speak for him ,did not pledge his allegiance to Africa ,and made more contributions to humanity than I can list. I can only speculate what his opinion would be of today’s black race and the likes of the Obama’s ,the Sharptons and the Jacksons of this world.

I never hear Obama talk of his white family, those who, as I understand, raised him. He seems to only want to be identified as African American. His father didn't raise him but Obama wants to talk about being black. That makes me believe he's one of those who wants to benefit from his race. He, and all those blacks who attend his church, would condemn any white person who did the same. It's so sad that his mother and her family receive no credit for bring him up. IMHO, it's chauvinism. Just another case of women doing most of the work and receiving no credit.

From Dreams of My Father, “ I FOUND A SOLACE IN NURSING A PERVASIVE SENSE OF GRIEVANCE AND ANIMOSITY AGAINST MY MOTHER’S RACE”. Barack Hussein Obama

(’..pervasive sense of grievance and animosity toward the white race’, Obama? If you get the presidency, where does that leave us whities?)

From ‘Dreams of my Father’, “The emotion between the races could never be pure, even love was tarnished by the desire to find in the other some element that was missing in ourselves. Whether we sought out our demons or salvation, THE OTHER RACE WOULD ALWAYS REMAIN JUST THAT; MENACING, ALIEN AND APART” Barack Hussein Obama

(’the white race is menacing, alien and apart, Obama? That don’t sound good.)

From Dreams Of My Father: “That hate hadn’t gone away,” he wrote, BLAMING “WHITE PEOPLE — some CRUEL, some IGNORANT, sometimes a single face, sometimes just a faceless image of a system claiming power over our lives.” Barack Hussein Obama
(So, we whites are ignorant and cruel and you blame us? Wonder where you heard that for the last 20 years?)

From ‘Dreams Of My Father’, “There were enough of us on campus to constitute a tribe, and when it came to hanging out many of us chose to function like a tribe, staying close together, traveling in packs,” he wrote. “It remained necessary to prove which side you were on,to show your LOYALTY TO THE BLACK MASSES, TO STRIKE OUT and name names” Barack Hussein Obama

(Loyalty to the black masses, Obama? Strike out?? Don’t sound good for us whities)
