“....the conservatives have most of the guns, and know how to use them.”
Yeah but the left, taking the example of their Taliban brothers, will use suicide bombers.

I’m strangely comfortable with it.

If theres a Republican administration after the next election, I would join in efforts for some sort of secession. Please secede! We'd support your seceding! You and all the wingnut leftie university "communities." Join Canada, and leave us with the South, the northern West except for Seattle, and the MIdwest!

He can’t prove his claim to fame (”multiple intellegences”) either. Its really quite incredible how popular that stuff got without an ounce of statistical or biological support.

Thats because his work is important in areas like educational policies, curriculums, testing, teacher training, etc. This is very important stuff, but usually flies under the radar.
He is just as wrong in his field as he is in his political opinions IMHO.

Well heck lets see, Maybe the South is gonna rise again as we will have to invade the NE and CA to save the dang UNION. Wonder how they will like that. Just seems fair to me. A little 12 year occupation and carpetbagging and no vote in the Congress by these idiots would make my day.

Professor Gardner, this is extreme cultural insensitivity on your part, to denigrate anyone as trying to "Shanghai" anyone else..... don't you know that it is not politically correct to disparage a great Chinese city and people in this way? What are you teaching your students at Harvard??
SHANGHAI 1. To kidnap (a man) for compulsory service aboard a ship, especially after drugging him. 2. To induce or compel (someone) to do something, especially by fraud or force: We were shanghaied into buying worthless securities.

Well, I have heard of him. And I think VERY LITTLE of his stupid educational theories. “Multiple intelligences — some are MATH intelligent, some are WRITING intelligent, some are xxxx.” OK, EVERYBODY is intelligent in their own special way.
Dumb it down, Howard. And keep your yap closed while you’re at it.

Don’t forget half the population or thereabouts of San Diego, we’re ex military who got out and stayed. You guys may have to take the bay area since that’s far enough we might miss the weekly Chargers football loss, but we’ll have no problem securing Lost Anjeeleez.
There’s a pretty strong protestwarrior faction here, it was funny a couple years back when Sheehan’s touring group tried to disrupt Bush staying in Coronado with their “support the troops by making them run home” message.
Much of the group that outnumbered and outclassed them were active duty military on their own time in civvies.
Duncan Hunter is also East County’s favorite son.
More to the subject, what this guy is up to is the same crap they’ve been pulling on the war- a voiciferous, childish and whining minority is so bent on getting their way they have become an outright facist movement- If you don’t share their hate they hate you, even if you once shared some views if you aren’t rabidly attacking they eat you like some cannibals eating their own. Look at what they did to Lieberman.
There’s so many now and they have rewritten so much recent history I often wonder if this is a bad dream. The other day I was over at Wikipedia on the Iraq war page and complete opinion and venomous speculation is now passed off as fact but moderate editors seem to have just... given... in. Didn’t use to be that way.
This Harvard jackhole has no idea who the nominee will be, the election is a year and nearly 2 months away, yet he talks like any republican winning is armageddon.

Another Democrat lays bare his extreme partisanship.
Without as much as knowing whom it may be, or what his policies are, Gardner is already ready for secession on the mere basis that the next President isn't a Democrat.

"By the way, isnt the term Shanghaiing culturally insensitive?"
Truth be told, "shanghaiing" refers to the late 18th century practice of Chinese local drug rings kidnapping sailors, rendering them unconscious and putting them on an outbound ship, usually heading for a far-flung port. So, if he's saying we're shipping their values off so they cant come back, I will readily accept that.

We love Duncan Hunter, too, here in Los Angeles. And thanks for serving. It’s great to have the protestwarriors close by.

Just think of it: Mass secedes and another war of secession begins. This time the Mass. looses and a Sherman-like military figure gets to march from across the Bay State.

And I think VERY LITTLE of his stupid educational theories.
Multiple intelligences some are MATH intelligent, some are
WRITING intelligent, some are xxxx. OK, EVERYBODY is intelligent in
their own special way.
It is fun to note when some liberal academician earns tenure and
a life-time income by simply re-dressing a bit of Biblical wisdom.
In this case, the Old Testament instruction about "raising up
a child in the way he should go"...
which, if I understand some of the better theologians, implies
that everyone has a certain constellation of skills and deficit.
And parents should, while raising the child, recognize the talents
and help the child grow and make the most of them.
As I often say about the current liberal epiphanies that result in
just a restatement of text from The Bible...
nice of these professors to catch up with what was known
about 2000-3500 years ago.

He didn’t need evidence - he was selling it to “educators”, who are always looking for the latest shiny psychobabble bauble. Gardner got extra fame points because his theory was so egalitarian. The are no stupid people, just people with different intelligences. It is rubbish, but very diverse. I thought he was dead already. His theory ought to be.
