Ageism is a popular sport with that admitted “twenty-something.”
My uncle used to say “You can’t tell a book by its cover, but if I don’t like the cover, I won’t read the book.”
I like Fred’s ‘cover’ just fine. And his ‘book’ is darn good reading.
Mitt is all cover and no book, IMO.
“Fred is not a healthy-looking man, and the simple FACT is that he has lymphoma.”
This is 2007. Lymphoma survival rates have dramatically increased in the past decades. It’s not like this guy has polio and is running for President in 1932.
Here he (Mitt Romney) is wiping the floor with another liberal that thought she could get to the left of him on abortion.

Here he (Mitt Romney) is stunning Ted Kennedy, with Romney winning the debate over who is more pro abortion rights.

Thanks. :)
I don’t know why people forget this but Thompson has hodgkins disease
LOL! DOH!
I do remember the MSM, maybe the NYT's writing about how Bush was almost obsessive in his drive, in terms of it being a bad thing
Sort of like someone who wants it that badly probably means he's a little psycho
>>>Ageism is a popular sport with that admitted twenty-something.<<<
You really should have thought through this before I posted. Did I not just two images of men who are about the same age as Fred Thompson? Is Mitt Romney not about the same age as Fred Thompson?
I’m a big fan of Reagan’s and have been since I was a child. My favorite Senator is easily Jeff Sessions of Alabama, who is 61. But I think it’s only fair to be critical of Fred Thompson’s HEALTH. The man appears 15-20 years older than what he is. And in my estimation, he just does not appear to be someone who is inspiring or in the best shape of holding out through a long campaign.
>>>Mitt is all cover and no book, IMO.<<<
And Mitt Romney has a long history of bringing back failiing corporation after failing corporation... has a hsitory of turning around a failing Olympic games. A history of producing pretty impressive results in Massachusetts given what he was up against.
Sorry, when you speak of books regarding the Presidency, I expect narratives—that is, palpable results. Not the bubbly brooks of aimless prose.
Posting “covers” does not tell the story, no matter how pretty your Dorian Grey may be.
You might want to proofread your bubbly prose before posting.
Actually I was referring to the video of his “debate” or “interview” in 2002. He couldn’t have appeared more ready to say whatever it took to get the votes. If he can’t uphold his personal convictions, and challenge status quo when necessary, then what makes anyone think he would make a good President?
Status Quo: High taxes, Poor border security, Pro-Choice. Hmmmmmm.
I think his diagnosis is non-Hodgkins lymphoma. They are not the same.
If you intend to make a difference and influence laws, you’d very well better be very aware of precedent, the “minutiae” and the history. As well as the fact that every law has a booby trap or two — look at how the 14th Amendment’s “born” and that word “person” in your quote have been used to justify abortion.
The reality of the legislative process and politics is pretty ugly. The facts and the past must be faced. Pie in the sky and unwillingness to teach and give justification to those you want to vote for your cause in the legislature will make you more than useless: you become a negative to your cause and will result in the other side winning every time. (Not to mention that you’ll alienate the people on your side who you need as allies when you denigrate their work.)
Our Texas law and the actual facts behind the R v. W SCOTUS decision are powerful tools. We’ve never repealed it and still hold that it would be valid if we could get R v W overturned.
Let me know if you face any difficulty in med school. Been there, done that, got the Blog (my LifeEthics). We can get you help through the Christian Medical and Dental Association, the various States’ (Focus on the Family) Physicians Resource Councils, Doctors for Life and the former members of the Physicians Life Alliance, which though now disbanded, tried to keep Medical Students for Life going and were the source for those drawings that Senator Brownback used to depict partial birth abortion.
Here’s the CMDA position statement on Conscience Rights:

(BTW, you pointed me toward the 1994 video of Senator Thompson, which was the only reason I pointed you to the 1994 video of the Governor. )
They love to find a theme and stick to it. Bush = dumb. Fred = lazy.
More like, mainstream media = dumb AND lazy.
I should look so healthy.
I imagine you have a Thompson obituary all written and ready to post at any moment.
BTW, I think I'm doomed. It's 11:30 PM here in Florida and I'm sweating like Michael Vick watching "Old Yeller".
