Good, appropriate quote.

The psychology behind OJ and others like him is that they are Narcissists. Narcissists know right from wrong, they just don't care. Narcissists only focus on what they want and how to get it. With them...as with OJ...the main thrust is to "get even," or "get revenge." He did that when he murdered his wife and Ron, he arranged this "sting" to get revenge and reclaim his (supposed) belongings. If it was illegal, it does not matter to OJ and Narcissistic people - he rationalizes he has a right because he wants to avenge a wrong that he imagines was done to him. If he has to tell lies, that is ok to him, if he has to hurt someone, or scare them, that is ok too. Pathological lying is their way to make the truth disappear and try to convince others to understand why they had a right to do what they did.

Anyone who wonders what makes OJ tick...and why he does not act and think like "normal" people just needs to read all the information on the Internet (especially Sam Vaknin's posts) about Narcissistic behavior. Anyone who has lived with or had contact with a true narcissist knows to be fearful of them. This is a very scary psychological behavior defect. Hard to detect, but once seen, easy to recognize and then understand the behavior observed in the narcissistic person. They have NO regard for anyone else, NO empathy, NO remorse. Once they do something wrong, they know it...but they can simply close the book, pretend that was another person, and re-invent themselves and go on with their lives.

The thing is, the problem never goes away and they repeat, and repeat, and repeat the same pattern all their lives. Some get caught - a lot of them are the criminals in jail. Some do not. A lot of narcissistic people are in public service, entertainment, etc. because they need the limelight. They need attention - even negative attention is good to them, it makes them feel they are important and have an effect on people.

Not all narcissistic behavior is bad, we all have some. But when it is carried to the extent that the person commits criminal or immoral acts, it has gone too far and has overtaken their capability to control themselves and pull in the reigns on acting illegally or immorally.

For the narcissist, life is all about self-satisfaction and self-gratification, and everyone else, everything else is simply not important or even non-existant.

Following the story of OJ will, hopefully, let somepeople see this very frightening personality trait and recognize it, and perhaps - if they are experiencing life with a narcissist...or have...they will not feel guilt or stupid themselves. Narcissists can make you do that. OJ made Nicole believe she was the problem in the marriage.

OJ's story and life is important to follow and recognize the "monster" (as someone on FOX correctly called him) that is beneth the smiling - toothy grin - childish waving - pretty-boy appearance. All traits of a narcissist...they are charming to the "nth" degree, until you cross them, or criticize them, or somehow make them feel you are no longer interested. Exactly what happened to Nicole. Narcissists are, certainly, dangerous monsters in society.

That fits the majority of our reps in Washington -

If your post 188 hadn’t been about OJ, I would have thought that you were talking about Hillary.

I was reading the thread LOLing (finding the 'real' burglars) and I read your post. Thank you for posting on narcissistic bahavior patterns and pointing out the seriousness of this pathology. I use the line 'exact geographic center of the universe' to describe two people I am forced to deal with. Whatever occurs, however it occurs, it is ALL about how it impacts THEM. Good to read the true defnintion.

Now to OJ...was he wearing Isotoner gloves?
